1. A ball is thrown so that it just clears a 3m fence which is 18m away. If it left the hand 1.5m above the
ground and at an angle of 60° with the horizontal, what was the initial velocity of the ball? (2pts)

2. A ball is thrown vertically into the air at a velocity of 60m/s. After 4 seconds, another ball is hot
vertically into the air. What initial velocity must the second ball have in order to meet the first ball 120m
from the ground? (4pts)

3. A ball is dropped down a well and 5 seconds later, the sound of the splash is heard. If the velocity of
wound is 330 m/s, what is the depth of the well? (4pts)
