“I think it’s vital to explore what’s around
you to help you grow during the transition
from teenagehood to adulthood,” says
editor Joe Kightley. Joe has always had a
fascination for the urban environment, es-
pecially cityscapes and urban atmospheres.
With this interest, as well as his passion for
speaking up about mental health, Urban
Mavericks was created. “There aren’t many
magazines that are specifically targeted for
teenagers, and that cover topics teenagers
are interested to learn about. I wanted to
create that very thing - something I wish I
had growing up.”
