Eligibility

● Student must pass the most recent STAAR exams, or be NWEA grade-level proficient (if
STAAR not taken);
● Student must maintain “C” grade of higher in “foundation curriculum” (ex. Math, Reading)
courses taken in-person or remotely in the previous school year.
● Student must have no more than 10% unexcused absences during the previous school
year.
● **High School students should have taken enough credits and completed required classes in
previous years to be admitted to the grade level they are applying to.

Kindergarten report cards use the Grading Scale (1st-12th graders)

E: Excellent

Attendance
● The student has to have at least 90% attendance in class to pass and
receive credit.
● 10 or more absences may initiate involuntary withdrawal.
● K-12th graders are expected to attend their synchronize classes. If a student
cannot attend their synchronize classes due to some extenuating
circumstances (such as medical reasons, technical difficulties),
parents/guardians can email to notify the teacher and the student can
complete the lesson asynchronously and must send assigned exit ticket
before 11:59 pm same day for the attendance.

● Club events will be held on schoology/google classroom groups.

Virtual Home Visit
● Virtual home visits help teachers establish trusting relationships with
students and families, even when you cannot meet face-to-face.
● There will be a 20-30 minute scheduled video call between a teacher
and a student’s family.
● Parents/Guardians will receive a request from school person for Virtual
Home Visits.

● For all K - 5th harmony students, your
harmony portal account will be provided by
your teacher.
● For all new 6th -12th harmony students
you will need to claim your account. To
claim your account visit my.harmonytx.org
and select “Claim My Account (students) “.

● The Harmony Portal will what you
interact with on a daily basis. From
viewing your grades to requesting
technical support.

● If you are trying to look for a specific


thing 9 times out of 10 you will be able to
find it at the Harmony Portal so
familiarize yourself with everything
available on the portal.
School Assigned Chromebook Use for
Scholars Reminder:
● Appropriate use of chromebooks, per Harmony Policy (go guardian )
● Chromebooks are used for educational purposes
● Don't share your password with anyone
○ Change your password if you think someone else might know it.
● Bullying/Cyber bullying will not be tolerated
● Always log out when you are finished using the Chromebook

Chromebook Release Form
● Your child will be provided with a Chromebook for school, you are required to
complete this form and agree to the terms/conditions of the technology agreement.
All technology devices issued to students are owned by and are the property of
Harmony Public Schools. Technology devices are issued for educational use only,
and use of a technology device for any purpose other than educational use may
result in consequences, as allowed by the Student Code of Conduct.
● Chromebook Release Form please fill out before the 1st day of class.
Registration
● For students currently enrolled into a Harmony
campus please contact your current campus to be
withdrawn so we can transfer you into the
Virtual Academy.
● For students coming from outside the Harmony
system please make sure you have uploaded all
the required documents requested on the
registration.
