Building Seawall as high as 5 m and 600 m long

Source: Personal Documentation, 2021

Answer:

In the beach safety building on Waha Beach this uses beach safety type of retaining wall (seawall).
Breakwater on Waha Beach is no longer visible and covered by high sea water. This led to the
need for a new beach safety building. So that the beach safety building is built in the form of
retaining walls or seawall. The retaining wall built on waha beach is right on the shore. This
is because it can not be built breakwater near the coast because of the high waves of sea water
that have greatly threatened the settlement of local residents.

Settlement residents right behind the retaining wall or seawall which is approximately 30
meters away. Some residents feel uncomfortable and no longer safe with the high tides of sea
that come so that a retaining wall or seawallisbuilt. But in the construction of this seawall gets
pros and cons in the community there are some people who feel aggrieved by the existence of
this seawall because it interferes with the aesthetic value of the beach and can no longer tether the
ship to the beach.

The shape of the retaining wall or seawall is made with a hexagonal shape along the shoreline
along the 600 m and as high as 5 m. Made as high as 5 m also takes into account the planned
repeat time of the next 25 years. Besides that it is made with a hexagonal shape because this
form is easier to withstand sedimentation carried by waves of seawater. This retaining wall
building or seawall is made because of the high waves of sea water that come threatening the
settlement of local residents. The construction of this seawall is quite significant in dampening
the waves that are hard enough to reach the settlers and withstand the large sedimentation
rate, so that the decline of the coastline is no longer a problem.
