STUDENT GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT DESIGN – PBL (Project Based Learning)

8th Grade
First Period 2022 - 2023

CURIOSITY, INNOVATION AND IMPACT

Objective: To clearly define for teachers and students the path to follow to Project based
learning through decision making, critical thinking and project design to come up with an
innovative result that is beneficial for society.

Parts of the Project:

Learning Logs to be sent every week.

Stages for project development

#1 Identifying topics
● Teachers will present the list of meaningful topics to be developed during this
period.

#2 Topics Selection
Students will then choose three topics they would like to work with and come up with
ideas on how they would elaborate a project for them. They will write a brief description
on what they would like to do on each. (All subjects should be included)

#3 Research information
● Students will research everything they need to know about their topic to build
their project’s framework. They may take notes, include articles, newspaper
information, videos, images or anything that will serve as evidence for their work
and include a bibliography of the research.
● All of this will be submitted in digital form.
● Teachers will revise and edit their work so they can move on to the next stage.

#4 Project Report (Presentation)


● It must include:
- First slide:

Title of your project
Name of students.

- Table of contents (The ones that you have chosen)


- Objectives (General and specific)
- Introduction
- Body (Information)
- Conclusion
- Images
- References: Author, year or URL.
#5 Elaboration of project
● Students will take pictures of the before, during and final design of their projects.
The least 5 pictures.
● Include the process of their project, materials, how it works and its benefits for
society. They may use realia, and whatever else they need to support their
defense.
#6 Presentation of Projects
● The presentation of projects will take place on the week of October 11th – 14th,
2022.
