ELECTRONICS- QUARTER II- WEEK 1

SOLDERING
YOU MAY ANSWER THIS VIA A GOOGLE FORM TO BE POSTED IN THE GOOGLE
CLASSROOM.
BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT SOLDERING
Soldering is a joining process used to join different types of metals together
by melting solder. Solder is a metal alloy usually made of tin and lead which is
melted using a hot iron. The iron is heated to temperatures above 600 degrees
Fahrenheit which then cools to create a strong electrical bond.

Direction: Write the correct term/s described in each item.
1. The process of connecting two metal pieces together to
form a reliable electrical path
2-3. Two reason why soldering is important is Electronics

4-5. The two metal components of solder

6. The melting point of a 50/50 solder

7. Tin/lead ratio which has the lowest melting temperature
8. The name for the 63/37 solder
9. The most common solder used in Electronics
10. The solvent action between a solder and the copper
where their molecular components combined with the solder
11. This prevents wetting action between the solder and the
copper
12. This is used to remove oxide film on the surface of the
material/component to be soldered
13-15. Three main elements of a soldering iron
