resistance is 0.9 Ω.The motor draws 50 A current.Find the speed of the motor and torque developed if
the flux per pole is 30 mWb.

at maximum efficiency.

flux per poleis 20 mWb and the motor draws a current of 25A.The armature resistance is 0.1Ω and
field resistance is 125Ω. The rotational losses are 810 W.Find (a) Gross torque (b) Useful torque
(c) Efficiency.
6. A d.c series motor having a resistance of 2 Ω drives a fan which the torque varies as the square of

5. A 4-pole ,250V dc shunt motor is lap connected with 140 slots with 8 conductors in each slot. The
flux per poleis 30 mWb and the motor draws a current of 30A.The armature resistance is 0.2Ω and
field resistance is 140Ω. The rotational losses are 900 W.Find (a) Gross torque (b) Useful torque
(c) Efficiency.

6.A d.c series motor having a resistance of 1.5 Ω drives a fan which the torque varies as the square of
the speed.At 220V,the set runs at 450 rpm and takes 30 A.The speed is to be raised to 700 rpm by
increasing the voltage.Determine the necessary voltage and the corresponding current assuming the
field to be unsaturated.
