SK Gives Learning Kits to Students in Brgy.

Last January 10, 2022, the youth leaders of Barangay Nangi distributed learning
kits to high school and college students in the said barangay, it was headed by the
Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson, Hon. Shyrine A. Romuar, together with the
Sangguniang Kabataan kagawads.

Hon. Shyrine Romuar acknowledges the huge demand for school supplies
especially with the hard works of the students on both modular and online learning due
to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). With this, the chairperson with her colleagues
have come up to an idea which is establishing a donation- drive that will benefit the junior,
senior high school, and college students of Barangay Nangi.

Since the beginning of the school year 2020-2021, the SK of Brgy. Nangi has been
distributing school supplies to several students in the said barangay. This initiative was
supported by the chairman of the barangay, Hon. Fernando A. Barneso, Sr. and has
benefitted almost 300 students already. They were able to provide students flashdrives,
module bags, notebooks, earphones, and tumblers which will be used in their studies.

“I can feel the struggles of the students in their studies way back the pandemic has
started until today, and also, the burdens of their parents while supporting their children
in their studies amid pandemic,” Romuar said. Through this idea, the SK of Brgy. Nangi
believes that they could ease the struggles of the students and put smiles on their lips
through their little gifts.

On the day of the distribution of school supplies to the students of Brgy. Nangi, the
SK also conducted various activities like youth leadership seminar, parlor games, and
feeding program that were participated by different individuals. The youth who excels in
the activities were also awarded by the SK members before the program ends.
