Lettuce Mini Hydroponic with Temperature and Humidity Control using Kratky Method

Kratky Method: The Kratky Method is a simplified hydroponic system in which the plants are suspended
above a reservoir containing a nutrient solution. As the plants access the water, the nutrient solution
levels fall. As the solution levels get lower, the roots of the plant grow downwards to access more
resources.

An area’s climate affects the types of plants that can grow there. The main objective of this project is to
be able to grow plants without considering the climate in the area (to be able to plant lettuce in Aurora
regardless of its climate). This lettuce mini hydroponic with temperature and humidity control using
Kratky method also have grow lights that help in stimulating photosynthesis even in the absence of
natural light.

Specific Objectives:

 To protect the system from changes in weather condition.

 To determine if a covered/closed system in hydroponic is effective/ necessary.
 To determine if it is possible for lettuce to grow in Aurora Province.
