Cassette Vibraphone for Kontakt 5

Quick Guide

Cassette Vibraphone v1.01 THEPHONOLOOP 2018

WAVEFORM
Use this menu to select the deck you want to load (with or without real round-robin):

DECK:
• DECK A - the highest quality, very low pitch instability

• DECK B - loose drive belt introduces a lot of pitch instability

• DECK C - the noisiest deck of all with medium amount of pitch instability

• DECK D - similar to DECK B in quality, but with its own twist

ROUND-ROBIN:
• 4xRR - play all 4 round-robin samples in random order

• RR 01, RR 02, RR 03, RR 04 - play only one selected round-robin sample

SAMPLE START
This knob (controlled with the GUI or Mod Wheel) allows you to control initial transients while
designing your sound. Unavailable in REVERSE mode.

REVERSE switch
It tells Kontakt to play samples in reverse. You can adjust the start point of every sample with
ATTACK slider located in AMPLITUDE ENVELOPE.

MONO mode
Useful while playing legato. Eliminates the problem of overlapping notes - allows Kontakt to play
only one note at the time.

-12 switch
When active, instrument is transposed down by octave.

SIM RR (simulated round-robin)

Makes faster note passages sound more realistic and adds to the overall nonlinearity of the
instrument (eliminates the ‘machine gun’ effect). Especially useful when real round-robin isn’t
active.

NOISE controls
• AMOUNT - controls the volume of cassette noise

• COLOR - controls the frequency of low-pass filter applied to the noise

DRIFT controls
• WOW - additional (slow) pitch instability

• FLUTTER - additional (fast) pitch instability

PITCH envelope
• INVERT - polarity switch (+ or -)

• CURVE - curve of the Attack slider

• AMOUNT - 0 to +12 semitones (or -12 when INVERT is active)

• ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, RELEASE - basic controls for time & level of the envelope

SEND EFFECTS
PRE FX / POST FX menu - use it to place the REVERB and / or DELAY before INSERT EFFECTS or after
INSERT EFFECTS.
