Al-Maktoum College Living Support Bursary 2022/23

Application Process There is no application process for this bursary. Eligibility will be assessed by our
Admissions team and eligible applicants will be notified in writing if they have
received the bursary.

Who is eligible?  Applicants must have an offer to study one of the following four courses:
o International Business and Islamic Finance MSc
o Islamic Banking and Finance MSc
o Islamic Banking, Finance and International Business MSc
o Islamic Finance MSc
 Offers to study at the University of Dundee may be either conditional or
unconditional.
 Applicants must be starting their course in September 2022 or January 2023.
 Applicants must have already been awarded one of the following University of
Dundee scholarships:
o Global Citizenship Scholarship
o Global Excellence Scholarship
o Vice Chancellor’s Africa Scholarship
o Vice Chancellor’s EU Scholarship
o Vice Chancellor’s South Asia Scholarship
o International College Dundee applicants in receipt of an International
College Dundee Progressing with Excellence Scholarship.
 All applicants must have International Fee status
Award Information  The bursary is valued at £5,000.
 The award is a bursary paid directly to the student after they have started their
course.
 It will be paid in 10 monthly instalments of £500.
 Payment of the bursary comes directly from Al-Maktoum college.
 All applicants will receive confirmation of their award in writing from the
University of Dundee, however the University of Dundee do not make any
payments for this bursary.
Key Information  The bursary is awarded in partnership with Al-Maktoum College Dundee, who are
responsible for making the bursary payments directly to students.
 The bursary cannot be used to discount tuition fees.
 The bursary cannot be used to pay the course deposit required.
 If a student leaves their course of study, scholarship payments will end. The
student will not be expected to pay back any monies paid to date.
 Students who have already started their course in a previous academic year are not
eligible for the bursary. Only students beginning their studies in September 2022 or
January 2023 are eligible.
 All communication with the student will be via email, and to their @dundee.ac.uk
email address. We may also communicate with other email addresses provided to
us by the applicant during the application process.

 If an applicant chooses to defer their entry within the same academic year, we may
be able to defer the award. However, this may not apply if the applicant chooses to
defer to the following academic year. We will confirm with all applicants who
defer, the status of their award.  
 If an applicant receives the award after the University of Dundee has issued a CAS
for visa application purposes, then the applicant will need to get in touch with the
University to confirm next steps.  
 All award decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
