PRO-STITCHER LITE STEP-BY-STEP – BASIC INFO.

 FOR HELP:
o HQ tech line: 1-877-697-8458, Opt. 2 8:30-5 MT
o P-S: 1-855-777-5257
o Two Chicks Quilting: 361-771-3978
 TURN ON:
o PS carriage
o Simply 16
o PS tablet (software should automatically launch)
 TURN OFF:
o File>Shutdown (PS tablet)
o Simply 16
o PS carriage
 CHECK SOFTWARE VERSION:
o Information>About and write down version number
o Go to http://prostitcher.com/prostitcher-software-update/
o Click ProStitcher Lite tab and view number on latest version and compare to yours
o If newer, download and extract files on your computer; put .exe file on USB drive
o With tablet on and software open, click File>Update
o Select the update you wish to install and click Start
o Follow prompts until complete
o Restart tablet and quilting machine before using PSL
 CROSSHAIRS:
o Orange – gears engaged
o Purple – gears disengaged for free-motion quilting
o Green – simulation mode
o Bring design to crosshairs, not the other way around
o Crosshairs (needle position) used with the Reposition function to determine design position.
 SETUP (VERIFY):
o Cruise mode (icon on R) to use ProStitcher
o Speed on machine = 150
o On PS, set speed to 60 and Acceleration to 50 or use OptiStitch
o Load test sandwich and check tension
 MISC.:
o Thread: Superior Threads Omni or Fil-Tec Glide 40 wt, Sz 18 needle
 Glide – 205-210 TOWA??; if problems with tension, unthread and rethread; turn top tension knob
fully tight, then fully loose, then tighten/adjust
 Pokies - if visible on top, top thread is too tight; if visible on bottom, top thread too loose
 Eyelashing - when happens on one side, adjust other side
 Use Glide foot for lofty batting, applique, etc.
 Bobbin: load bobbin into case with thread coming off on top to the right (think “9”)
o
LOADING:
 Max. Quilting Area w/PS: 12 1/4”x49” (backing and batting can be wider, pole=67”)
 If doing E2E, MEASURE WIDTH and LENGTH OF QUILT before loading
 Measure quilt top from center to top
 Measure that distance from center of backing to top and mark with pins on sides (red in picture)

 Load backing to back bar first, then front


 Lay batting down with top edge 1”-2” above pins
 To tell sides of batting:
o insert pin in and out of batting several times, up and down
o no resistance - bumpy side facing up (want this on top); resistance – flat side facing up; scrim on bottom
o Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom – both sides are the same; same with Quilter’s Dream
 Position needle on left side even with pin
 Horizontal Channel Lock (on)
 Set SPI on Simply 16 to 4
 Use Start/Stop on handlebar to baste across
 Horizontal Channel Lock (off)
 Lay top down with edge even with basting line and use a few pins to hold
 Move machine to top left corner of quilt
 Horizontal Channel Lock (on)
 Use Start/Stop on handlebar to baste across top
 Horizontal Channel Lock (off)
 Move machine to top right corner of quilt
 **Vertical Channel Lock (on)
 Use Start/Stop on handlebar to stitch down the side
 Vertical Channel Lock (off)
 Move machine to top left corner of quilt and repeat from **
 Change SPI back to preferred setting (11)

Troubleshooting Machine Problems:


 Thoroughly clean and oil machine
 Put in a fresh needle
 Check bobbin tension and adjust if necessary
 Insert bobbin washer into bobbin case
 Rethread machine
 Check top thread tension by sewing on quilt sandwich
