Dear and classmates,

My name is Nariman and I am an optometrist. I live in Curaçao, a small island in the

Caribbean Sea and a constituent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is
characterized by its diverse and multicultural background. People are multilingual and can
speak more than 3 languages: Dutch (official language), Papiamentu (native language),
English, and Spanish. My goal is to achieve my Master in Education here in UoPeople and I
hope this course will equip me with the fundamental knowledge and skills that will help me
throughout my future career and professional development.

After completing the Career Cluster Survey, I did not expect the results would validate my
current educational path since my career is completely different from what I am seeking a
degree. However, my first top matching career cluster was “Education and Training” while
my second one was related to my current career “Health Science”.
This assessment ascertained that my interest profile matches both my current educational and
career pathways. I love my current career; however, I always have interests to be an educator
since childhood. I know that teaching is hard and challenging but it is a rewarding career!
