The goal of this discussion is to prepare you for the Interview process.

Respond to the
following questions:

 What are the necessary steps to take in order to prepare for an interview?
 What is the appropriate attire for an interview?
 What are your top 3 do's and don'ts for what to discuss or do during an
interview?
 What actions should be taken upon completion of an interview?

To prepare for an interview, the first thing one must do is to research the people who will be
interviewing me to have an idea what roles they have in the applied company or organization. Second, is
to think what possible questions could be asked during the interview so that I can be better prepared
and also prepare questions to ask at the end of the interview to show my curiosity about the position
and that I have researched the organization. Third, rehearse and practice to give me more confidence.
Rehearsing with someone from the same industry if possible and provide feedback on my answers and
preparedness would be very helpful. Fourth is to dress properly and professionally to make a good
impression of my image.

To send a powerful message to the interviewer, I need to dress up appropriately making sure to pick up
the right colors of the attire for the role I am applying for. For example, color red and orange can be
intimidating for the interviewer since these two colors evoke feelings of power and aggression. It is wise
to either have contact to one of the employees and ask about the general dress code or stalk out of the
organization and see what the employees are wearing.

During the interview, I should always have a smile to project a positive image to the interviewer. Be
confident and ready to give answers to the questions and to ask questions at the end of the interview.
What I should avoid during the interview is not to interrupt the interviewer and not just answer
questions with yes or no but to elaborate my answers and provide examples. It is also important to
portray a positive image of my personality and avoid criticizing former colleagues, employers or the
organization/ company.

Upon completion of an interview, it is very important to follow up from the interview by emailing the
interviewers thanking them for the time and expressing my desire for the job. It is also wise to keep
following through to the end to show them the enthusiasm and interest to the role.
