“THE DIVA DEBACLE”

General Information

1. Miss SlayQueen is an annual international beauty pageant that is organized by Belle

Premiere International Ltd. Conducted in the month of May every year, it is one of the most
coveted pageants in the world with an estimated audience of over 500 million viewers in
over 190 territories. The holder of the title has the privilege to hold on to the exquisite
crown for a year.

2. Nirali Chatterjee hails from the state of East Oban, in the country of Azbakan. She is
a model, who has won numerous local and national beauty pageants including Miss East
Oban 2022. Now, her only dream was to be crowned as Ms.SlayQueen 2022. With her
hard work and dedication towards the competition, she was eventually crowned Miss Slay
Queen 2022. With this, she became the first Azbakanian, in the last 21 years to have won
the title.

3. Onjula Roy is an Azbakanian actress who is well-known all over the state of East Oban as
a stand-up comedian and host for several TV shows. She has an experience of over 25 years
in the industry, where she has an impeccable and prestigious stature. Further, she is also
known for her ties with Troywood, the National entertainment industry of Azbakan.

4. Troywood is also the second largest entertainment industry in the world, after Hroywood.
Every actor in Azbakan aspires to make their debut in Troywood and millions struggle to
 even get noticed by the big names of the industry. Saran Manohar, Shobhit Reddy and
Sukumar Hirani are some of the most influential and sought-after names of the industry,
working with whom is every new comer’s dream.

5. Nirali had always been ambitious about her career in the glamour industry and frequently
participated in several pageants and other such similar events. During one such event in
February 2019, Onjula Roy recognized the young woman's talent and reached out to her.
Over the years, Nirali and Onjula's bond strengthened to an extent where they became
inseparable, and would be seen attending all industry events together. Onjula guided Nirali
through every step of her career, and Nirali had publicly expressed her gratitude to her
"Godmother" in interviews.

6. “Flunkey” is an upcoming big-budget East Obanian film that is special to both Nirali and
Onjula. It marked the debut of Nirali as a lead actress in East Obanian Industry, while it
was Onjula’s debut as a producer. This project was also the debut of Partho Roy, Onjula's
son.

7. In February 2022, the shooting of ‘Flunkey’ was successfully completed as scheduled and
everyone was excited about its release. The promotions were supposed to begin in March
2022. The movie touched deeply on the issues of human rights and was meant to be released
on 10th December 2022 i.e. the Human Rights Day. Nirali was juggling assiduously
between her preparation for Ms. SlayQueen along with the promotions for their movie.
Amidst the promotions, she received an email from Ms. SlayQueen Organization
confirming that she had qualified for the Grand Finale of the pageant on 12th May 2022.
She was on cloud nine. Onjula was equally thrilled about her selection. She figured that
Nirali’s growing fame would be beneficial for Flunkey's business.

8. The promotions for Flunkey were in full swing when the news of Nirali's nomination for
the grand finale of Miss SlayQueen got out. During a major promotional event of Flunkey
organized by WokeFlix, one of the biggest OTT Platforms in Azbakan, Nirali was being
interviewed by the host Heat Starvey about her nomination. To the shock and surprise of
the Roys, instead of promoting Flunkey, Nirali kept talking only about her personal
achievement. This greatly disappointed Partho Roy, who confided in Onjula. Onjula
 reassured him that Nirali would not back out of promoting the movie owing to the contract
signed by her for the movie and also her bond with Onjula.

9. Comedy Nights with Karan is the most popular entertainment television show wherein only
national Troywood actors get featured, Onjula called in a favour as she and Karan had done
a stand-up show together and managed to get them the event. Once the event was finalized,
Nirali informed them that the dates of the event were clashing with the date of the grand
finale of Ms. SlayQueen so she would not be able to show up for the event. Nonetheless,
since Karan and Onjula go way back, he was kind enough to reschedule the event for them.
The event was now scheduled for the 25th of July 2022.

10. After Nirali won the Miss SlayQueen title, she was an instant hit in Azbakan. She did not
go unnoticed by the producers, and casting directors of Troywood and the local East
Obanian entertainment industry. Everyone wanted to cast her in their projects and had
approached her for the same. Onjula still believed that despite everything, Nirali wouldn’t
let her down. However, her worst fears came true when Nirali did not show up for the
rescheduled event of Comedy Nights with Karan. She found out through ‘Babble’, a gossip
column, notorious for spreading rumours about Troywood Celebrities, that Nirali had gone
to attend the famous producer, Shobit Reddy’s birthday bash.

11. Onjula and Partho had to face a lot of humiliation and embarrassment. They were
extremely hurt by Nirali's actions. Nirali, on becoming aware of their disappointment, tried
to contact them for an entire month to clear the misunderstandings between them. However,
Partho ignored her genuine attempts of reaching out to them as he was convinced that Nirali
is prioritizing herself over Flunkey. This brought the promotions of Flunkey to a standstill.
This led to speculations on Babble about Nirali and Onjula’s relationship going awry. There
were talks about cancellation of a few of Nirali’s upcoming projects. Moreover, producers
were starting to worry that if Nirali did not honor her commitment to Onjula, someone she
proudly refers to as her ‘godmother’ on such an important event, she might do the same to
them.

12. Alarmed by the chain of events, their respective legal teams advised them to resolve their
issues through mediation so as to avoid things from escalating any further. The mediation
 is set to take place on 30th September 2022 at ILSCA. The mediation will be attended by
Mrs. Onjula Roy, and Ms. Nirali Chatterjee along with their respective legal
representatives.
