As a result, I need to submit this report based on the “Sales & marketing Strategies of Business
Solutions.” This report also includes information on the other services of company, the overview of the
organization. As the students of Business Administration, I was assigned by my course instructor to
involve in this study. My course instructor has advised me to develop a thorough understanding of the
“Sales & marketing Strategies of Business Solutions” as I have completed my internship program from
Business Solutions Limited where my Manager – Business Development, Market Operation Division.

14
Objective of the Report

The objective of the report can be viewed in two forms:

* General Objective

* Specific Objective

General Objective:

This internship report is prepared primarily to fulfill the Bachelor of Business Administration (M.B.A.)
degree requirement under the Faculty Mital Business School, of Lovely University.

Specific Objective:

More specifically, this study entails the following aspects:

• To focus and discuss the Sales and Marketing Strategies of Business Solutions limited.
• To give an overview of Business Solutions limited.
• Business Associations and Networking with Prospects through INTRODUCTION TO THE
ORGANISATION Online Platforms and Business Networking and Relationship Building via
Key Marketing Initiatives
• To focus on the various services, work environment and facilities provided by Business
Solutions limited. · To focus on the importance, benefits, reasons of Marketing Strategies of
Business Solutions limited

Scope of the Report

The scope of the study is the Sales and Marketing Strategies of Business Solutions limited. The report
covers details about the various services, overview and different departments and divisions in Business
Solutions Limited. The focus is on the analysis of the Sales and Marketing Strategies. However, the

15
study is only related to the Market Operation Division as I was provided an opportunity to only work in
this division.

1.4. Methodology

The internship has been conducted in a systematic procedure starting from selection of the topic to final
report preparation. The overall procedure and process of methodology followed in the study is
explained further.

1.4.1. Selection of the topic:

The topic of the report is the Sales and Marketing Strategies of Business Solutions limited. The topic
was thoroughly discussed with both of my supervisors from my university as well as from Business
Solutions Limited also, so that a well-organized internship report can be prepared.

1.4.2. Sources of Data:

i) Primary Sources:

Primary Data was derived from the practical deskwork which I had been doing in my three months long
internship program.

ii) Secondary Sources:

Internal sources- Different documents provided by my supervisor and other senior employees and
information provided by my supervisor. External source- Websites, Textbooks, articles, several other
reports, and other sources.

16
1.5. LIMITATION

The report has been prepared from the feedback and information provided by the Market Operation
Division and the learning ‘s throughout these 3 long months of internship program. Market Operation
Division is a very confidential department in terms of its information. The information ‘s is very much
private and confidential. The information about this division can only be shared among very few other
divisions and employees in Business
Solutions itself. The information ‘s cannot be disclosed to the external world. Though the report would
be helpful to Business Solutions Limited a lot, but the information ‘s was confidential enough to
disclose to the external world. Another problem was time constraint. Though it was a 3-month program,
but the activities of this division are so vast that 3 months program would not be enough to get the full
idea about all the activities of this division. This period is not enough for a complete and clear study.
Although there were many limitations, I tried to give best effort to furnish the report.

arena of Bangladesh despite fast-changing business trend and tricky situation. Business Solutions are
the very first one to provide selected resumes. They provide companies with the resumes that match
with their Job description. In this way they will find the perfect person for the right post.

18
Defining the Selection Process
Every organization has a defined selection process when recruiting individuals to fill vacant positions.
The major aim of the selection process is to find and recruit competent candidates for available job
openings. Ideally, the selection process begins with a job opening with a distinctively defined function
profile (He & Xu, 2018). The job description includes the number of candidates needed, educational
background, years of work experience, and proficiency in certain skills.

Components Included in the Selection Process

Application
After creating a job advertisement, the human resource unit posts it, and candidates make applications.
The number of applicants varies depending on the job type, industry, company size, employer brand,
pay rates, benefits such as health insurance, and opportunities for progression (Kamran, Dawood &
Hilal, 2015). The job advert could be posted on the company's website, social media platforms such as
Goodspace and Facebook, online job boards like Indeed, and recruitment sites.

Screening and Pre-selection

The initial screening of applicants is the second component. The second phase aims to decrease the
candidates' pool from a huge collection to a manageable group ranging from 3 to 10 individuals that can
be interviewed depending on the number of candidates required. The phase involves, resume screening,
phone screening and chat-bot, pre-selection and pre-employment assessment.

Interview
An interview is the third phase in the applicant selection process which is profoundly known to many
and the most visible of them all. The candidate can be interviewed by the immediate supervisor, or the
entire management to assess the competency in the role. Ideally, the interview avails insight into a
candidate's technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and sociability (Gatewood, Feild & Barrick, 2015).
The interview may be virtual or in-person or both. Interviews can either be structured or unstructured
where the former refers to a standardized set of questions with a uniform process of recording
information while the latter involves unstandardized questions and methodologies. Accordingly,
interviews can be evaluated through a STAR approach which entails situation, task, action, and results

19
analysis (Kusumawardani & Agintiara, 2015). The technique tests applicants’ experience in different
situations, consistent with the job opening.

Assessment
The phase incorporates a full assessment process which includes, the General Mental Ability (GMA)
test commonly referred to as an IQ test, and a Personality test through the Five Factor Model.
Conceptually, higher IQ correlates to faster learning and heightened top performance (Kamran, Dawood
& Hilal, 2015). On the personality aspect, more conscientious applicants tend to perform better since
they are detail-oriented, dutiful, hard-working, and achievement oriented.

References and Background Check

The phase focuses on a few selected candidates between 1-3 individuals. It is an essential step in the
applicant selection process. Accordingly, the reference checks substantiate the accuracy of the
information given by the candidate and the recruiter's impressions of them.

20
Decision
The phase helps choose suitable candidates with the greatest potential for organizational growth.
Sometimes, it means picking less qualified personnel now but who is dedicated to staying and growing
with the organization for an elongated timeframe. Certainly, the selection panel should use a data-
driven methodology for a fair hiring decision. Ideally, it incorporates pre-defined criteria that rate each
candidate after which the most suitable candidate is chosen.

Job Offer and Contract

After settling on a particular candidate, the applicant needs to accept the offer. When the selected
candidate accepts the offer, the company drafts a contract and both parties sign it. Only after both
parties sign the contract that the selection process becomes complete.

The Most Important Selection Process

Accordingly, references and background check are the most significant selection process since any
doubt exhibited during the interview process on certain competency or skill can be confirmed. The
process helps gather diversified information from a different perspective to help choose the best
candidate. Certainly, government jobs or openings involving heightened confidential information like
banking and healthcare roles amongst others obliges a reference and background check mainly to
ascertain one's integrity and dignity. Nonetheless, a background check could be a prerequisite before
applying and be incorporated in the pre-selection phase. For instance, confirming good conduct and
other criminal record checks are essential as it helps eradicate candidates who abuse their duty of care
over susceptible individuals (Gatewood, Feild & Barrick, 2015). Similarly, employers can use private
firms to conduct reference and background checks.

Training Needs Analysis (TNA)

Training Analysis, sometimes called Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is the process of
identifying the gap in employee training and related training needs. Training needs
analysis is the first stage in training process and involves a procedure to determine
whether training will indeed address the problem that has been identified. Effective
TNA is particularly vital in today's changing workplace as new technologies and
flexible working practices are becoming widespread, leading to corresponding changes
in the skills and abilities needed. Our Training analysis looks at each aspect of an
operational domain so that the initial skills, concepts and attitudes of the human
elements of a system can be effectively identified and appropriate training can be
specified. A successful TNA will identify those who need training and kind of training

to offer the wrong kind of training. A Training Needs Analysis helps to put the training

the marketing has swept through the room. It’s what sticks in your mind about a product, service, or
organization—whether at that moment; you bought or not. The brand is ultimately what determines if
you will become a loyal customer or not. The marketing may convince you to buy a particular Toyota,

audience, defining a message to that audience, and clarifying a plan of action to achieve those goals.

course, payroll is also incredibly important to its recipients: the employees of a company. Employee
morale can be negatively affected by errors and irregularities in payroll, so an organization must
distribute payroll in an appropriate and precise manner. It is critical that every employee receives their
pay accurately and with the correct withholdings and deductions, and for an organization to guarantee
that all these withholdings and deductions are submitted in an appropriate manner to the correct entities.
This may include salary payments, paycheck deductions and tax withholdings.

Event Management

Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large
scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It
involves studying the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the
logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event. The process of
planning and coordinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and can include budgeting,
scheduling, site selection, acquiring necessary permits, coordinating transportation and parking,
arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering and emergency plans.
Business Solutions can do to arrange any kind of event for their clients in country through expertise.

Types Of Market Research

Whether an organization or business wishes to know purchase behavior of
consumers or the likelihood of consumers paying a certain cost for a product, market
research helps in drawing meaningful conclusions.

31
Depending on the methods and tools required, following are the types:

Primary Market Research

Primary market research is a process, where organizations or businesses get in touch
with the end consumers or employ a third party to carry out relevant studies to
collect data. The data collected can be qualitative data (non-numerical data) or
quantitative data (numerical or statistical data).
While conducting primary market research, one can gather two types of information:
Exploratory and Specific. Exploratory research is open ended, where a problem is
explored by asking open ended questions in a detailed interview format usually with
a small group of people also known as sample. Here the sample size is restricted to
6-10 members. Specific research, on the other hand, is more pinpointed and is used
to solve the problems that are identified by exploratory research.
As mentioned earlier primary market research is a combination of qualitative market
research and quantitative market research. Qualitative market research study involves
semi-structured or unstructured data collected through some of the commonly used
qualitative research methods like:

Focus groups: Focus group is one of the commonly used qualitative research
methods. Focus group is a small group of people (6-10) who typically respond to
online surveys sent to them. The best part about focus group is the information can
be collected remotely, can be done without personally interacting with the group
members. However, this is a more expensive method as it is used to collect complex
information.

One-to-one interview: As the name suggests this method involves personal interaction in the form of
an interview, where the researcher asks a series of questions to collect information or data from the
respondents. The questions are mostly open-ended questions and asked in a way to facilitate responses.
This method is heavily dependent on the ability and experience of the interviewer to ask questions that
evoke responses.

32
Ethnographic research: This type of in-depth research is conducted in the natural settings of the
respondents. This method requires the interviewer to adapt himself/herself to the natural environment of
the respondents which could be a city or a remote village. Geographical constraints can be a hindering
factor in conducting this kind of research. Ethnographic research can last from a few days to a few
years.

Qualitative research method: It is used by organizations to conduct structured market research by

using online surveys, questionnaires and polls to gain statistical insights to make informed decisions.
This method was once conducted using pen and paper. This has now evolved to sending structured
online surveys to the respondents to gain actionable insights. Researchers tend to use modern and
technology-oriented survey platforms to structure and design their survey to evoke maximum response
from respondents.

Secondary Market Research:

Secondary research uses information that is organized by outside source like government agencies,
media, chambers of commerce etc. This information is published in newspaper, magazines, books,
company website, free government and nongovernment agencies and so on. Secondary source makes
use of the following:

Public sources: Public sources like library are an awesome way of gathering free information.
Government libraries usually offer services free of cost and a researcher can document available
information.

Commercial sources: Commercial source although reliable are expensive. Local newspapers,
magazines, journal, television media are great commercial sources to collect information.

Educational Institutions: Although not a very popular source of collecting information, most
universities and educational institutions are a rich source of information as many research projects are
carried out there than any business sector.

Knowing what to do in various situations that arise during the investigation will save the researcher’s
time and reduce problems. Today’s successful enterprises use powerful market research survey
software that helps them conduct comprehensive research under a unified platform and hence provide
actionable insights much faster with fewer problems.

Following are the steps to conduct an effective market research:

Step 1: Define the Problem

Having a well-defined subject of research will help researchers when they ask questions. These
questions should be directed to solve problems and they must be adapted to the project. Make sure the
questions are written clearly and that the respondents understand them. Researchers can conduct a test
with a small group to know if the questions are going to know whether the asked questions are
understandable and will they be enough to gain insightful results. Research objectives should be written
in a precise way and should include a brief description of the information that is needed and the way in
which it will obtain it. They should have an answer to this question “why are we doing the research?”

Step 2: Define the Sample

To carry out market research, researchers need a representative sample that can be collected using one
of the many sampling techniques. A representative sample is a small number of people that reflect, as
accurately as possible, a larger group.

• An organization cannot waste their resources in collecting information from the wrong population. It
is important that the population represents characteristics that matter to the researchers and that they
need to investigate, are in the chosen sample.

34
• Consider that marketers will always be prone to fall into a bias in the sample because there will
always be people who do not answer the survey because they are busy, or answer it incompletely, so
researchers may not obtain the required data.

• Regarding the size of the sample, the larger it is, the more likely it is to be representative of the
population. A larger representative sample gives the researcher greater certainty that the people
included are the ones they need, and they can possibly reduce bias. Therefore, if they want to avoid
inaccuracy in our surveys, they should have representative and balanced samples.

• Practically all the surveys that are considered in a serious way, are based on a scientific sampling,
based on statistical and probability theories. There are two ways to obtain a representative sample:

• Probability sampling: In probability sampling, the choice of the sample will be

made at random, which guarantees that each member of the population will have
the same probability of selection and inclusion in the sample group. Researchers
should ensure that they have updated information on the population from which
they will draw the sample and survey the majority to establish representativeness.

• Non-probability sampling: In a non-probability sampling, different types of people are seeking to

obtain a more balanced representative sample. Knowing the demographic characteristics of our group
will undoubtedly help to limit the profile of the desired sample and define the variables that interest the
researchers, such as gender, age, place of residence, etc. By knowing these criteria, before obtaining the
information, researchers can have the control to create a representative sample that is efficient for us.
28When a sample is not representative, there can be a margin of error. If researchers want to have a
representative sample of 100 employees, they should choose a similar number of men and women. The
sample size is very important, but it does not guarantee accuracy. More than size, representativeness is
related to the sampling frame, that is, to the list from which people are selected, for example, part of a
survey. If researchers want to continue expanding their knowledge on how to determine the size of the
sample consult our guide on sampling here.

Step 3: Carry out data collection

35
First, a data collection instrument should be developed. The fact that they do not answer a survey or
answer it incompletely will cause errors in research. The correct collection of data will prevent this.

Step 4: Analyze the results

Each of the points of the market research process is linked to one another. If all the above is executed
well, but there is no accurate analysis of the results, then the decisions made consequently will not be
appropriate. In-depth analysis conducted without leaving loose ends will be effective in gaining
solutions. Data analysis will be captured in a report, which should also be written clearly so that
effective decisions can be made on that basis. Analyze and interpret the results is to look for a wider
meaning to the obtained data. All the previous phases have been developed to arrive at this moment.
How can researchers measure the obtained results? The only quantitative data that 29will be obtained is
age, sex, profession, and number of interviewees because the rest are emotions and experiences that
have been transmitted to us by the interlocutors. For this, there is a tool called empathy map that forces
us to put ourselves in the place of our clientele with the aim of being able to identify, really, the
characteristics that will allow us to make a better adjustment between our products or services and their
needs or interests.

Step 5: Make the Research Report

When presenting the results, researchers should focus on what do they want to achieve using this
research report and while answering this question they should not assume that the structure of the
survey is the best way to do the analysis. One of the big mistakes that many researchers make is that
they present the reports in the same order of their questions and do not see the potential of storytelling.

Step 6: Make Decisions

An organization or a researcher should never ask “why do market research”, they should just do it!
Market research helps researchers to know a wide range of information, for example, consumer
purchase intentions, or gives feedback about the growth of the target market. They can also discover
valuable information that will help in estimating the prices of their product or service and find a point
of balance that will benefit them and the consumers.

because thanks to it they get invaluable information, it shows researchers the way
to follow to take the right path and achieve the sales that are required.

CHAPTER 4: COMPANY ANALYSIS

Strengths for good space

Here are some factors which are helping Goodspace to develop into the amazing business.

• Active Users

Goodspace is growing with an impressive number of active users.

Granted the number of active users is very less in comparison to the number of people who have a
profile, it is still a very big deal to have millions of active users present and this number is growing as I
write this!

• Filters

It can get very annoying and extremely taxing to go through every piece of information from millions
of users online. Goodspace has filters available which make it a piece of cake to shortlist the necessary
information. You can very easily shortlist the search down to a person’s gender, state, city,
qualification, or job title and even more to save both time and effort. Similarly, the people looking for
jobs can easily filter professions best suited to their resumes or interests. Looking for a job? You know
where to go.

• Details

The level of detail which Goodspace enables its users to delve into is nothing short of remarkable.
There is nothing more aggravating for a recruiter or a person looking to get hired than having
incomplete and incoherent chunks of information. Goodspace profiles are elaborate but concise, they
cover everything that both ends of the hiring process might be interested in and it is all a matter of a few
clicks.

38
• Strong Customer Relationships

Goodspace has extraordinarily strong relationships with its customers because of the ease and
convenience it offers. No matter how big of a deal a brand becomes, it always needs to cozy up to
customers to maintain its position. They have a fully established and functioning customer relationship
management department to overlook all of this.

Weaknesses for Goodspace

• The Privacy Breach

This is a major weakness for businesses that are purely digital, the potential to get hacked. As
encryption services and data protection increase in strength, so do the hackers.

• Fake Users

Whereas it is amazing that so many people have had employment opportunities because of Goodspace,
a big hurdle in this scheme is the fact there is no given way to guarantee that a profile is legit. People lie
all the time, even here so there often are people with completely incorrect information on themselves or
on their companies. People get scammed often. There should be a way to distinguish between real and
fake profiles.

• Inappropriate Behaviour

Goodspace is NOT social media, but some people do not get this. With millions of users on it, there are
bound to be a few creeps per every 100. They skip the professional bounds of the service and try to flirt
with other people. It makes the experience a bit nauseating for some people.

• No Diversification

Some of the biggest brands in today’s world like Disney and Apple have become the conglomerates
that they are not by sticking to their core product or service offering, but by diversifying. It is
imperative to have other outlets and financial streams for businesses to stay alive for longer because if
trends change and users shift, they have other options of staying in the market. Unfortunately,
Goodspace does not have much else going on other than their core business; this can be a problem in
the future.

39
Opportunities that Goodspace can explore

• Audio/Video Calling
Ever since the global pandemic hit, the world has transformed every activity into an online version.
Video calling has become second nature at this point. Besides, as soon as potential hiring appears, many
times the people are required to give interviews which are then redirected to Zoom or MS Teams, so
why not have a call/video feature on Goodspace. It will drastically improve the service and make things
even more efficient.

• Global Expansion
Many emerging nations are present which could use something like this; not only will it become an
extremely uncomplicated way of bridging the gap between potential employers and aspirational
candidates it will also expand the brand. Emerging countries are short on employment opportunities, to
begin with, Goodspace could expand its workforce as well.

Threats should Goodspace be wary of?

• Competition
Goodspace has competition in the market. Sure, no other platform is very significant in comparison, but
they are constantly emerging and evolving. Brands like Nexxt, Lets Lunch, and Atleto do keep
Goodspace on its toes. Think about the days when MySpace seemed invincible as the top social media
website. Facebook erased Myspace from the social media realm like it was nothing.

How long will it take before some other business tweaks the wrongs of Goodspace into rights and beats
it out of the park?

• Government Policies

With data breaches becoming more prevalent and dangerous, all countries around the world have been
cooking up different rules and regulations about peoples’ privacy on digital platforms.

Goodspace revolves around the display of a lot of information on every user’s profile; it is quite
possible that they may be required to make amends to their business model in lieu of governmental
policies of data protection.

Naturally having access to a lot of information is one of its biggest strengths so something of this nature
could ruin the business.
40
• Privacy Issues

Goodspace has dealt with a huge privacy breach in the past and there is no way of ensuring it won’t
happen again.

With the number of users increasing every second on the platform, the amount of information that can
be exploited and misused is insurmountable. Digital Brands like Goodspace are just one huge data
breach away from going through irreparable damage.

Goodspace SWOT Analysis: Conclusion

In this SWOT Analysis, we have seen that Goodspace is an extraordinarily successful brand and has a
very promising future if they play their cards right. Their strengths outweigh the weaknesses, and they
have some great opportunities to explore, however they have to be careful with users’ information.

They have a huge responsibility on their shoulders because what they get for providing their service to
customers is even more sensitive than money; it is data and information, commodities priceless in
today’s world.

Sure, the threats are scary, especially competition emerging, but Goodspace has managed to become the
market leader so they can maintain their position by being vigilant.

Overall, the time when Goodspace becomes obsolete is far away from today and perhaps might not
come at all. Hopefully, you found this article helpful!
