Abstract

This research aims to inform people about the water rate during the first year of
lockdown. Household bills have been a problem of many families on the community during the
pandemic. Water rate is one of these billing problems of certain households. The researchers
want to know if there is a difference on the water usage before and during pandemic thus, the
formulation of the study.
For the researchers to be able to know the water bills of each household, they conducted a
survey between the month of January and May 2020 to further know if there are difference in the
water bill. Where, 157 respondents were computed to answer the survey, all coming from Grade
12 STEM students of San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite. This is an assortment of male
and female, nevertheless, both were given the same questions.
With the data gathered, the results about the difference on the water usage were
computed using the Paired Sample T-test in SPSS wherein the variables are rate before and after
pandemic. The results show that the p-value is greater than 0.05, therefore the researcher
concluded that there were no significant difference before and during pandemic.
Hence, the analysis was done via internet, with that researchers possible respondents is
only limited, and to gather responses is difficult. Through that, the guidance for other researchers
is to choose a bigger sample size so the gathered data will show on the results precisely.
