Assignment I
For the ribbed slab floor system shown below,
1. Design the rib joist by considering pattern loading and drawing the envelope BM diagrams.
2. Design the main girder on axes 1-4, if it is required to be submerged with an overall depth
of 300mm by applying,
a. no moment redistribution ,
b. 20% moment redistribution.
c. Compare and comment on the results obtained from part a and b.
3. Produce structural drawings

Use materials C25 concrete, S400 Steel and Class I Works. Assume a column dimension of
400x400mm.
