1. What do you expect to learn from this subject that you can use in the future
career?
My expectations for this subject, Social Studies are that I would be able to learn
everything that is needed in this subject. To obtain better understanding about
discipline that includes humanities such as geography, history, and political science.
Which It makes me more capable in dealing with other people with respect and help
me understand their different culture and political views. Also, I want to be
knowledgeable, improve myself about dealing with other people. And I hope that this
subject can help me to become more and more competitive and capable in my future
career.
2. Why is it important to study social science as a subject to the elementary grades?
Taking up social science as a subject in elementary grades are important because it
is a way to gain a broad understanding about history, geography and cultures around
the world. It provides them with skills for productive problem solving and decision
making as well as for assessing issues and making thoughtful value judgments.
Through social science student can learn about our past , the economic conditions of
our country, the political system that we our bound to and the surroundings that we
live in .So, when they get older, they learn more about their civic duties and
responsibilities and get a better understanding of how the government and economy
work. Thus, social sciences help people understand how to interact with the social
world.
3. What do you think are the skills you need to learn in this subject to be an effective
teacher one day?
I think I need to learn communication skills which is very important in order to deliver
the lesson effectively and student can feel that you are connected to them. It helps
improve relationships, increase understanding, and model positive interactions. Also
I need a collaboration skills who able to work together and learn from each other to
have a successful in improving student outcomes. And be a creative person, as a
BEED teacher someday it is important to be creative interms of making instructional
materials to get the interest of the student to have a successful learning. As of now I
am lack of this skills and I want to improve them by learning some teaching
strategies in this subject.
4. Make an illustration of one the current issues our society (Philippines) is facing
and make explanation. (You may use separate sheet of paper for the illustration)
There are many issues that the Philippines facing today and they need an urgent
solutions. One of it is the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) it is an infectious disease
caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The virus primarily spreads between people
through close contact and via aerosols and respiratory droplets that are exhaled
when talking, breathing, or otherwise exhaling, as well as those produced from
coughs or sneezes.
When it declare as pandemic all aspect of our life are affected had a deep impact on
the way we perceive our world and our everyday lives. It is one of the reason why
many Filipino’s loss their income and job opportunities which led that people
suffered from lack of food, money and so on. Also, it brought a huge impact not only
on the country’s economic status but also primarily on the population, health system,
and its environment.
My illustration shows that wherever we go we always wear face mask because this
virus are everywhere we cannot see it. All we can do is to be aware and keep on
praying that the disease Covid-19 will really disappear so that our country can
recover from the collapse of the economy so that we Filipinos will have many job
opportunities to make money in order to supply our daily needs.

1. Write your notions about the subject.
Help me to become more knowledgeable about many ways in teaching students
about scientific method. Help me to make a effective strategies that can get the
interest of the students which allow them to observe and analyze a particular
phenomenon, making while at the same time getting some entertainment out of it. I
believe that this subject I can gain confidence in order to face my students without
worries.
2. What do you think is the importance of teaching science to elementary grades?
It is important to teach science to elementary grades because all things in this world
involves problem, hypothesis, theory and phenomenon which only science can help
them to provide information so they can have knowledge of the world around them.
Also, to discover the thing in their own, allow them to know what happened in
the past, what is happening today in the world and answer their curious question
about everything.
3. Site important factors that lead to child's point of preference to like or dislike the
subject?
There are many factors that lead to child’s point of preference to like or dislike the
subject some of it are when they are forced' to learn the subject, presumes the
subject is difficult, boring' subject, fear of failure, learning disability, poor chemistry
with a teacher, poor instructional material of a teacher.
4. What do you think personal teachers competencies you need to become a well-
equipped teacher in the future? How would you want it to address?
I think I need to become a good communicator, improve my self awareness. Also
having knowledge about leadership and management. To become a well equipped
teacher in the future. I want it to address by making myself be more better and trying
my best to be able to cope my weakness. I believe with this competencies I will
become a effective teacher to help the development and academic success of
students.
5. How would you describe yourself as a student?
I am a student who has many weakness and many hardship that I need to endure in
order to reach my goals life. I’m not the best student a teacher can get. I lie low,
quiet, barely raises my hand not competitive and intelligent like others. But I am
pursuing to be a better student, trying hard to learn and become knowledgeable.
Striving to overcome every difficulties in life I want that those weakness turn to be my
strength one day just to be a better communicator and effective teacher who is free
to share my knowledge to the near future.
