be arranged to allow going to either direction from
any point in the corridor.

are permitted when the dead end does not exceed
6.00 meters in length

X > 50 = 1100MM
X < 50 = 900MM
X < 10 = 750MM
Trim and handrails shall not reduce the required width by
more than 100MM

• E-3: Winding stairways may be used if the required
width of the run is provided at a point not more than
300MM from the side where the treads are
narrower.

direction of travel equal to the width of the stairway.
Such dimension need not exceed 1.20m when the stairs
has a straight run.
