Introduction to
affirmations
Defining
affirmations

Affirmations are powerful statements that are meant to affect

your behavior and life in a positive way. Can affirmations
completely change the course of your life? No. However, they
can influence the way you live life and react in daily situations.

THE GOAL OF PRACTICING AFFIRMATIONS

is not to replace essential daily habits, but to instead
change your mindset and get into the habit of thinking
positively, no matter what situation you're
currently in.

Practicing affirmations helps your mind speak

positive thoughts into existence.

Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the
tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." (NKJV)

God teaches us that our words have the power of producing

death or life. The same way words can heal, comfort, and
strengthen, words can destroy, hurt and kill. So, while staying
positive at all times is nearly impossible, practicing powerful
affirmations can impact your life positively.

Proverbs 18:20
A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his
mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. (NKJV)
Biblical affirmations
vs. regular affirmations

REGULAR AFFIRMATIONS

There exists all kinds of affirmations:

manifesting affirmations, affirmations for women,
affirmations for self-confidence, affirmations for
prosperity, morning affirmations, night affirmations,
and what not.

While affirmations have the power to influence your

mindset, they are not enough to change your life.
Simply put, affirmations depend on what you can do,
how capable you are, and your own ability to change.

BIBLICAL AFFIRMATIONS

However, biblical affirmations are not based on what

you can do or who you are. They're based on what God
has done, is doing, and can do in your life. Biblical
affirmations are statements inspired directly from the
Bible. So, they do not depend on you. They're 100%
dependent of God's power, strength, and promises.

Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not
live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds
from the mouth of God." (NKJV)
BUT
are biblical affirmations
reliable?
THE ANSWER IS YES. YOU CAN COUNT ON BIBLICAL
AFFIRMATIONS BECAUSE:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete,
thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
HOW TO PRACTICE
biblical affirmations
daily?

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you
shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according
to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good success. (NKJV)
ACTIVATING
GOD'S PROMISES

While it's hard to tell the exact amount of promises

found in the Bible, there are thousands of promises.
Many suggest that are are over 8,000 promises found.

Regardless of the amount of promises in the Bible,

God has left thousands of promises for His children.

God has left these promises so that His children can

activate them. How can these promises be activated?
By affirming, confessing, and believing in them.

And just like there are so many promises in the Bible,

there are many types of promises. Here are a few:

1 Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to

His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has
not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised
through His servant Moses. (NKJV)
ACCEPTING
GOD'S WILL
Although God has left us many promises, it's
important that we accept His perfect will above all
things.
Yes there are many comforting promises in the Bible.
But if it's God's will to use illnesses, suffering, pain,
loss, or tragedies for His glory, there is nothing you
and I can do to change that. His plan will always
prevail.
So, do not be mislead by false prophets that preach
about prosperity, teach you to claim God's promises
(without accepting His will), and promote a modern
Christian life without suffering. That is all unrealistic.

Believing in God does not shield you from suffering.

Believing in God gives you hope, guidance, and
comfort in the midst of suffering. Those who love God
can rest assure that God will use every situation for
His greater plan.

So keep in mind that:

Biblical affirmations are meant to help you confess
God's Word, speak promises into existence, and
navigate through life all according to God's plan.

If it's in His plan, it will happen.

Luke 22:42 Father, if it is Your will, take this

cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will,
but Yours, be done.” (NKJV)
STAYING CONNECTED
TO GOD

It's impossible to talk about confessing God's word,

activating His promises in our life, and living a godly life
without staying connected to Him. Anyone can label
themselves as a "Christian", but only a few can say that
they have a profound relationship with God. Cultivating an
intimate, profound, and long-lasting relationship with God
is essential for Christians.

TIPS
But, how can you stay connected to God? Here are some
tips that have personally helped me stay connected to God.

1.Open your heart to God 5. Consume Christian content

through intentional prayers. on a daily basis.

2. Read scripture daily. 6. Find ways to serve God.

joHN 15:5“I am the vine, you are the branches.

He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much
fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
