How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

X Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic

teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

Lesson idea implementation: Students will activate prior knowledge by answering the Pear Deck
prompt at the start of the lesson to see what they already know about point of view. Students will
work through the Pear Deck while actively answering the questions embedded within them and will
watch the interactive Brain Pop. Students learning will be assessed by the last slide as a formative
assessment. Students will circle key words or phrases that helped them identify which point of view
the sentence was in. The lesson will be concluded with students creating a poster with the teacher
to help them remember the key elements that differentiate the different points of view.
Managing student learning: Students will be interactively learning by interacting with the links,
videos, and questions within the Pear Deck. Students may share their ideas with their table
members. I will work with the students through the Pear Deck and will give them a chance to answer
each prompt and answer the questions. We will watch Brain Pop as a class and students will be given
20 minutes to create the Flip with a partner, group or individually. I will walk around the class to
ensure that all students are actively working through the lesson.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students will be actively engaged with the lesson by answering
questions, creating a video/audio, and conversing with others to help build understanding and
moving through interactive slides. Content is represented to students through questioning activities,
drawing, video representation, and through a visual poster representation. Students can express
their understanding of the content by creating a Flip video/audio with the choice of working alone or
with a partner/group.
Reflective Practice: Pear Deck is a fantastic and easy to use tool to utilize in the classroom to
enhance google slides or PowerPoint slides. This tool enhances a more traditional tool into an
interactive and engaging tool for students to use in the classroom. I look forward to implementing
this tool into my lessons because it is a fun way for students to learn about content in a fun way.
