Research Design
When a researcher needs to start any research, researcher chooses some methods, techniques, and
applications to complete that research in systematic framework. That systematic framework is
called research design.
Types of Research Design

Descriptive Research When the researcher is using some theories (descriptive form or
Design method).
Correlational Research A Correlational research design investigates relationships between
Design variables without the researcher controlling or manipulating any of
them. A Correlational reflects the strength or direction pf the
relationship between two or more variables. The direction of a
correlation can be either positive or negative.
Experimental Research There will be some experiment either in society or laboratory.
Design
Diagnostic Research When the researcher is investing any problem, situation or any
Design result of an experiment. That design is called diagnostic research
design.
Explanatory Research The situation or problem is already there and the researcher is
Design going to elaborate or interpret it.
Two designs which are not actually research designs but the forms of data collection widely
called as research design.

Qualitative Research In which the researcher gives the answer of questions; why, when,
Design what, where, how, how many?
Quantitative Research In which answer are given quantitative form (in table form or
Design figures).
Some other designs are there, which use in research; as follows:

Fixed Research Design The design is fixed, whatever the variables are, it is fixed.
Flexible Research Design The design is change with time according to research requirement.
Cross-Sectional Research Different fields are used for same topic, as consists of 2, 3
Design sections.
These are called research designs with some other interesting designs. i
