Topics we have Covered in second week

 Difference between Human and Computer
 Philisophy of Mind
 User as an Information processing System
 Human Sensation , Perception and Cognition
 Problem solving and reasoning
 Attention and Change blindness

1.Philosophy of Mind
Philosophy of mind is all about how our mind thinks and work ,A
human mind works with interactivity ,interactivity is basically the
feature of product when we see something so that the feature of the
product called interactivity tells us what i am and how i work.
Interactive systems have been studied within the field of Human-
Computer Interaction since the early 1980s.

This research has given us valuable knowledge about users, systems

and design methodology.Aspects of the mind that are studied
include mental events, mental functions, mental properties,
consciousness and its neural correlates, the ontology of the mind,
the nature of cognition and of thought, and the relationship of the
mind to the body.
2. User as an Information Processing System :
HCI is fundamentally an information-processing task. The human
information processing approach is based on the idea that human
perform, from displayed information to a response, is a function of
several processing stages.human get orders think on it and act or react
when talk about computer information processing system ,we give
input to computer, computer perform processing and return the
output.out react is input for the computer and its output is information
getting point for us.

get think act/react

input processing output

3.Human Sensation:
There are five basic human senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell, and
taste. The sensing organs associated with each sense send information
to the brain to help us understand and perceive the world around
us.talk about the sensory memory.
Perception :
Perception is the process by which organisms interpret and organize
sensation to produce a meaningful experience of the world.it is related
to a short term memory. perception in humans describes the process
whereby sensory stimulation is translated into organized experience,
whether that be on a top-down or bottom-up basis.

Cognition:
Cognition based on perception. It is related to a long term memory .
Cognition refers to "the mental action or process of acquiring
knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the
senses. Cognition includes all conscious and unconscious processes by
which knowledge is accumulated, such as perceiving, recognizing,
conceiving, and reasoning.
