Introduction

Price of fuels for automobiles as of now is a bit high.

And its continuing price hike is affecting the people of the

municipality. Fuels is what is needed for making our

automobile works. The Philippines is importing oil from

foreign countries because of fast increase consumption in the

transportation sector. As the demand for oil increases, so has

the price of oil and its byproducts such as gasoline.

Increased usage of these fuels has led to the growth of

greenhouse gases. So, there is a good alternative for these

environmental destructive fuels.

Hydrogen is the most common element found in earth. It is

produced by electrolysis of water or from fossil fuel. There

are two technologies, one is the hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) and

the other is an internal combustion engine (ICE). The hydrogen

ICE is a dual fuel technology vehicle that is fueled by

gasoline as well by hydrogen and increases the vehicle

efficiency. Although this type of vehicle is currently under

development therefore it is not available to purchase. It is

important to know that hydrogen ICE emissions are less than

conventional gasoline and it also emits NOx. The HFC produces

electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen, to power an

electric motor.

Goal: improved organization

3
If these two alternative fuels are used it is better not

only for our health but also for our environment. This

research is aiming to solve the environmental pollution as

well as the fuel shortage for the automotive in our

municipality. These two alternative solution is low in price

and will be affordable for those third world country.

Hypothesis and Predictions

H1: The cost of the automobile fuels will lessen.

P1: if these alternative hydrogen fuels will be available next

year, these will help in the country’s economy as well as to

its people. There will have a better budgeting for those who

have automobiles.

H2: The pollution in air will lessen and the health of the

people will be better.

P2: There will have a good air for the people as well as for

the environment. If this hydrogen fuel will become available

next year, the following year will become more efficient among

those people who suffered from dirty air diseases.

Evaluation through Collaborations and Learning

The hydrogen fuel makes a lot of good and positive outcome

to everyone. It will bring a betterment to the people if we

start purchasing it than the traditional fuel we used for our

automobiles. If we used this hydrogen fuel this could lessen

the air pollution and it will help the peoples budgetary plan

4
because it is cheaper than traditional gas fuel, we used to

use. If we utilized the used of hydrogen properly, it has the

potential to entirely replace the fossil fuels altogether.

Evaluation: A survey for Hydrogen fuel as an alternative

replacement for traditional fuel

According to the survey results the primary driving force

behind the search for alternative fuel is the environmental

concerns. And this is followed by the price of gasoline. The

data was split in two primary concerns; environmental concerns

and price of gasoline.

Mean: 1.83 Median: 2

Mode: 1 Standard deviation: 0.85

Table 1. survey question on environmental concerns

There is the mean of 1.83 that agrees that hydrogen fuel is

better than traditional fuel. It is more environmental

friendly and clean.

Mean: 1.98 Median: 2

Mode: 2 Standard deviation: 0.76

Table 2. survey question on price of traditional fuel

There is a mean of 1.98 that agrees that traditional fuel

is costlier than hydrogen fuel. It makes the user suffer for

its price.

Conclusions and recommendation

7
In an environmental sense, the alternative like hydrogen

fuel is better for environment. All electric vehicles would be

powered from the grid using renewable energy, which is

efficient. The environmental impact can be lowered further if

the electricity from the grind was provided from renewable

such as hydroelectric. Hydrogen fuel cells are better for

environment due to the fact that the only emission is water

vapor.

In economic sense, when methods of production to produce

hydrogen become more efficient then, it will become

economically viable. Most held the largest advantage if

primarily used for city commuting as the alternatives have

technologies to minimize fuel usage by means of either turning

off the primary engine or having very idle fuel consumption

due to no throttling losses.

In conclusion, the price margin to a comparably equipped

isn’t much. The authority feels that if the consumer is

interested in a long-term investment with high technology,

then an alternative is the best option. With increased public

understanding of the alternatives and conventional vehicles,

one can make a better judgement on the matter.
