A. Definition
Descriptive text is a text used to give a detailed information (description) about a
particular object.

B. Social function
Generally, the main function of a descriptive text is to describe an object. Specifically, a
descriptive text has these following functions:
1. Giving information about a particular object by describing its features and special
characteristics;
2 Giving information about a particular object by describing its physical attributes,
behavior, functions, etc.

D. Language Features
Language features used in a descriptive text namely :
1. Specific participant: has a certain object, is not common and unique
(only one character).
2. The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple
present because it tells the fact of the object described
3. Use linking verbs or relational process frequently (is, are, has, have,
belongs to) in order to classify and describe appearance or qualities and
parts or functions of phenomenon
4. Use action verbs or material process and behavioral process in giving
additional
5. Description regarding and behavior done by the participants in text
6. Use mental verb or mental process when describing feelings
7. Use nominal group frequently to described

Bahuluang Island

Bahuluang Island is located at the southern tip of Selayar Island, is in the west and is an island
inhabited by local residents.
Bahuluang Beach offers a natural beach charm. The absence of managers who invest in this place,
even further strengthens the authenticity of the beach panorama that spoils marine tourism
connoisseurs.
In one spot in the Bahuluang Island area, there is a coral island that bursts out surrounded by blue
and clear sea water. Doing snorkeling and sunbathing activities are an ideal choice for visitors.
Ideally, from Benteng City, visitors travel overland to Appatanah Village and then continue with a
trip using a jolloro type boat with a capacity of 10 to 15 people. From Appatanah to Bahuluang
Island, it can be reached in about 45 minutes to an hour.
