HIGH-PERFORMANCE FIBERGLASSFILTER1.GENERAL Check filter for any evidence of damage due to rough handling in shipment. If filter is damaged, notify the carrier immediately. The filter may only be used for the filtering of swimming pool water, garden pond water or similar applications. 2.INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Please note:There can be specific needs to install filters nearby swimming pools,garden ponds or such places.The filter should be placed ona flat,solid foundation. Install the filter and pump in a sheltered location, ensuring ventilation and adequate access for servicing. Place the filter in its permanent location. Make sure you can reach the valve easily. Then fix the piping.Use only plastic piping. Size all piping adequately and keep the number of elbows to a minimum. 3.O0PERATION Look inside, move the top diffuser to one side and check the lower distribution system for loose or broken laterals. Ensure air bleed pipe is connected to lower distributor. Connect valve to the filter using pipes with unions. Fill the tank to 1/3rd level with water before attempting to fill with media. Fill the filter with the specified quantity of sand.Replace 4top diffuser and ensure correct position of air bleed pipe, through top diffuser and connected to air bleed valve.Ensure pressure gauge is tight fit to filter lid .Place O'ring with lid on filter tank and tighten nuts with washers evenly. Take care, do not over tighten.Connect the pump and return pipes to the valve 816), turn valve to position RINSE, start the pump and run for atleast 1 minute. : CAUTION: NEVER SHIFT VALVE HANDLE POSITION WHILE PUMP IS RUNNING.NEVER DISASSEMBLE VALVE WHILE FILTER IS UNDER PRESSURE. : 4.FILTRATION 1. Shift off the pump. 2.Shift valve handle to position ‘Filtration’ . 3. Start the pump. 4, Note here the pressure of the pressure gauge. 5.TO CLEAN (BACKWASH) THE FILTER When the pressure rises approximately 0.5 bar above the recommended pressure it is time to backwash. 1. Shut off the pump. 2. Shift the valve handle to "Backwash"3. Start pump and let it run until water is clean (about 3 minutes.) 4. Shut off the pump. 5, Shift valve handle to "Rinse"position. 6. Start pump and run for approximately one minute. 7. Shut off the pump. 8. Shift valve handle to position "Filtration"and start the pump. 6.MAINTENANCE The filter needs no maintenance. 7.WINTERIZING Protect the pump, the filter and the piping from freezing.Open the drain and shift the valve handle to "Backwash". 8.REPLACING THE SAND Open the drain and let the water flow out. Remove the sand and folow instructions oultined in 4 operation. 9.WARRANTY The manufacturer is not responsible for transport damage. In case of damage notify carrier immediately.
