UNDERSTANDING VOCABULARY vwiler me Phrasal verbs A phrasal verb is a verb with one or two linked particles. These particles are words we use as prepositions or adverbs in other contexts. Often the meaning of a phrasal verb is not obviously connected to either the verb or the particle. We've always got on very well. (= We've always liked each other and been friendly.)
