ORGANIZING INFORMATION
WHAT ARE TECHNIQUES?
TECHNIQUES - are approaches or methods you as a writer may used
to organize the information you have gathered, to accomplish your
desired aim in writing

A. BRAINSTORMING These are the tools in Brainstorming:

- is an informal way of gathering ideas, thoughts or
information regarding a certain topic and organize it to
create a meaningful context.
- it could be done individually or by group.
- you could write as many words or ideas as you can
regarding a topic.
- using this technique efforts are made to make a
solution to a particular problem.
- The term was popularized by Alex Faickey Osborn in
1953 book " Applied Imagination" (Wikipedia org.). He
developed this technique when he got frustated that his
employees could not come up with useful techniques as
they worked individually.
Cubing - an idea is examined from six
distinct points.
Free Writing - This is when someones
write freely what comes to mind in sentences or
phrases, without worrying about grammar,
punctuation, or make sense.
Listing - Simply requires you to write the
main topic and write down all related concepts
below it.
Mapping or Idea Map - is a visual
representation of ideas and their connections with
one another.
