SOUTH AFRICA

his/her CADET PROGRAMME which includes PPL , CPL, ATPL and FLIGHT

CADET PROGRAM (CCP)

Licensing (A) PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE (PPL)

A Private Pilot License (PPL) is the most sought after type of pilot certification. PPL stands
for Private Pilot License. The private Pilot certificates, internationally known as the private
Pilot License (PPL), is your first aim as apilot. The PPL offers foundational knowledge and
skills for all destiny plane pilot education. As a Private Pilot, you may fly an Aircraft day and
night in visible flight conditions, In fact, you could even bring passengers, consisting of pals,
family, and co-employees. Nonetheless, there are a few restrictions. As an example, you
cannot fly for paid compensation or hire. In other words, you mayn't make money as a private
pilot or search for real jobs flying. But, you may share the operating charges along with your
passengers. The PPL is your basis path on a pathway to an airline pilot career in which you
can earn an excellent profits. If flying is your dream, the PPLis your first step.

Private Pilot License is a qualification that permits the holder to fly on single engine land
(SEL) aircraft in visual meteorological conditions (VMC) as pilot-in-command or co-pilot on
plane in non-commercial operations without remuneration. PPL education is step one
toward turning into an expert pilot and designed for candidates with a flight experience.
When you complete your PPL (A) education, you may get your Private Pilot License and SEL
qualification.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS ?

Licensing (A) PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE (PPL)

In order to qualify for the South African Private Pilot's Licence, you will need to be at
least 17 years of age, a holder of a valid Student Pilots Licence and a holder of a
class II medical certificate. A practical flight test needs to be conducted by a grade
two flying instructor. The following are the MINIMUM requirements before
undertaking the practical flight test:

Must be at least 17 years of age

Hold a class II medical certificate

Hold a restricted or general radiotelephony certificate

Hold a valid Student Pilot License

Hold an ICAO language proficiency certificate (min. level 4)

The Airline Transport Pilot Licence is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. Those certified
as Airline Transport Pilots are authorized to act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft in an air carrier

Air navigation, including the use of aeronautical charts, instruments and navigation aids; an
understanding of the principles and characteristics of appropriate navigation systems;
operation of airborne equipment; practical aspects of air navigation and dead reckoning

An Interpretation and application of aeronautical meteorological reports, charts and forecasts,

altimetry.
