OVERVIEW

In the air conditioning and refrigeration field, many types of compressors are used for
recycling the refrigerant and it becomes a major device in the system. The Open Type
Compressor Troubleshooting Trainer is designed to demonstrate the theory and operational
electrical characteristics of compressors.
Open Type Refrigeration System Training has been developed to simulate open type
compressors with motor drive electrical faults. The fault simulations are about electrical
malfunction, especially about electric motor-winding and motor protecting device. There are
15 faults to simulate the open type compressor motor faults problems.
With Open Type Compressor Troubleshooting Trainer, the students are trained to find and
troubleshoot the compressor motor malfunction. When the unit is in the normal operation
mode the student can take pressure, amperage, voltage and resistance measurements to
establish proper operational characteristics. Faults can then be introduced and the student can
analyze the problem and diagnose the fault. It is done by observation, experiment and
analyzes activity. It will make the students familiar with the characteristics of open type
compressor and compressor motor.
