1. Self Test
1. Select “7. Self Test” on the menu screen then press [ENTER] key. The “Self test” will be displayed on
the screen.
2. System Check
1. Select “1.System check” on the Self test screen then press [ENTER] key. The “System check” menu
will be displayed.
2. Select “1. GMDSS Tx/RX equipment” then press [ENTER] key. Diagnostic test for modules of MF/HF
will start. .
3. Press [Print Scrn] key to print the test result when test is completed.
4. Press [F7] key when test is completed or stop the test.
5. Select “2. LED/Speaker/Switch test” on the system check menu then press [ENTER] key.
“LED/Speaker/Switch test” menu will appear.
6. Move the cursor to an item on the “LED/Speaker/Switch test” menu to open pop-up menu.
7. Select “ON’ then press [ENTER] key to start the test. Corresponding LED lights will lit once “ON” is
selected.
8. Press [Print Scrn] key to print the test result when test is completed.
9. Press [F7] key to reset once test is completed.
3. DSC Communication Test.
1. Select “2. DSC communication test” then press [ENTER] key on the Self Test screen to open the
“DSC Communication” test screen.
2. Select “1. Selective call ID” then press [ENTER] key to enter the DSC ID No of the destination coast
station for the DSC communication test.
3. Press [ENTER] key once DSC ID No is entered.
4. Select “2. ACK.RQ/Ack. BQ/EOS” then press [ENTER] key.
5. Select “1. Request for Answer (Ack RQ)” then press [ENTER] key.
6. Press [F3] key to set frequency. The frequency pop-up menu will appear.
7. Select the transmission frequency from the pop-up menu then press [ENTER] key.
8. Press [F4] key to start transmission of DSC communication test.
9. Wait until the reception verification is returned.
10. If no reception verification is received, either contact the coast station by other to confirm that the
test message has been received or, repeat steps 2-9 using another coast station or frequency.
11. Press [F2] key to return to Self test menu.
4. Transmission/Reception Unit test
1. Select “3. Tx/Rx test” on self test menu then press [ENTER] key..
2. Select “1. Tx/Rx emission” to open emission pop-up menu then press [ENTER] key.
3. Select a radio wave type to be tested from the pop-up menu then press [ENTER] key.
4. Select “2. Tx/Rx frequency” to enter the transmission/reception frequency to be tested.
5. Press [F4] key to start diagnostic test. Diagnostic test will start and result will be displayed once
completed.
6. Press [Print Scrn] key to print the test result when test is completed.
5. Press [F7] key to stop the test.
6. Press [F2] key to return to self test menu.
5. DSC/WKR/NBDP Test
1. Select “4. DSC/NBDP/WKR test” on the Self Test screen menu then press [ENTER] key.
2. Select “1.Loop test” then press [ENTER] key. Loop test pop-up menu will be displayed.
3. Select “. Message test” then press [ENTER] key to start message loop test.
4. Press [F6] key to stop message loop test.

5. Select “2. B signal test” then press [ENTER] key to initiate B-signal test. Result will be displayed
when completed. Press [F6] key to stop B-signal test.
6. Select “3. Y-signal test” then press [ENTER] key to initiate Y-signal test. Result will be displayed
when completed. Press [F6] key to stop.
7. Select “4. Dot-signal test” then press [ENTER] key to initiate Dot-signal test. Result will be displayed
when completed. Press [F6] key to stop.
8. Press [F2] key to return to Self test menu.
6. ROM/RAM test
1. Select “5. ROM/RAM test” on the self test menu then press [ENTER] key.
2. Press [F4] to start. ROM/RAM test will be displayed on the screen. Test result will be displayed about
15 seconds later.
3. Press [F7] to stop.
4. Press [F2] key to return to Self test menu.
7. Alarm Check
1. Select “6. Alarm monitor” on the self test menu then press [ENTER] key. Alarm monitor will be
displayed on the screen.
2. Press [F2] key to return to Self test menu
8. Checking status of antenna matching unit.
1. Select “7. MAT Condition” on self test menu then press [ENTER] key.
2. Press [F4] key to read the value of each item in antenna matching unit.
3. Press [F2] key to return to Self test menu.
