Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini popularly known by the name of Doja Cat is a US-based rapper, singer,
and songwriter who was born October 21, 1995, in Los Angeles, California. Doja Cat initially
released music on SoundCloud before becoming popular. She caught the attention of RCA Records
and Kemosabe when she released her song “So High” which was a hit. In 2014 17 years old Doja Cat
signed a deal with RCA Records and Kemosabe and released her debut album called “Purrr!”.  As of
2022, she has 18.7 million followers on Instagram, 9.5 million subscribers on YouTube while 4.1
million Twitter followers. 

Career: 

Initial life was very difficult for Doja as she had to cope with dropping out of college and doing odd
jobs to make a livelihood. She would look for beats online and make her music. In 2012 when she
released her song “So High” on SoundCloud it became a hit and caught the eye of many music
producers. In March 2012, with the help of music producer Yeti Beats, Doja Signed a deal with RCA
Records and Kemosabe. After signing the deal she released her first debut EP album called “Purrr!”.
Her song “So High” which was released in 2012 was repackaged and featured in the series Empire
aired on Fox Network. Doja went into hiatus and did not make any music. She returned after nearly
four years with the song “Roll with Us” in February 2018. She began to release music after ending her
hiatus. Her song “Candy” became a sleeper hit as it went viral on TikTok. Doja released bet first
album named “Amala” in March 2018 but her album was not a success. She released her second
album in 2019 called “Hot Pink” it was a hit. The album featured on number 9 on the Billboard 200
and some of its songs like Candy, Say So and Boss Bitch were a huge hit. Her remix of the song Say
So collaborating with Nick Minaj was a huge hit topping the Billboard Hot 100. In 2021, she has
worked with numerous artists like collaborating fit a song with the rapper Saweetie and Megan Thee
Stallion. She appeared in Time’s Magazine “Time’s 100 Next”.

Born on October 21, 1995, as Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini to a South African father named
Dumisani Dlamini and an American mother named Deborah Elizabeth Swayer. Her father’s
profession is acting, producing, and composing music. While her mother is a painter. Doja is 5’3
inches tall while she weighs 55 kg. She describes her sexual orientation as bisexual while she has kept
her personal life very private. There is no information available about her relationship or partner.
