73rd INDEPENDENCE DAY SPEECH 2019

Good Morning everyone! Today, as we all know, we have gathered here to celebrate
the 73rd Independence Day of our country. On this auspicious occasion I extend
my heart felt regards to our honorable chief guest Air Commodore J S Mann, Vayu
Sena Medal, AOC 16 Wing and Chairman School Management Committee, Mrs.
Anita Mann, President AFWWA (Local), parents, principal, teachers and other
distinguished guests.
Our freedom fighters chose the life of danger and struggle to follow their passion for
a free India. They relentlessly fought to liberate our motherland from the British
government’s shackle. Safeguarding our national security and national integrity will
be the greatest tribute to our heroes of Indian Independence.
On this occasion let’s pay homage to all brave hearts of the Indian Armed Forces,
the Central Armed Police Forces, and the Indian Coast Guard who do selfless
service and defend our country. We can never thank our soldiers enough for their
bravery and sacrifices. This year’s February 14 turned out to be a doomsday in
Pulwama where a Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad
conducted a suicide terror attack on CRPF convoy leading to the martyrdom of 40
brave jawans. India embraces the policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
After "Pakistan failed to take any concrete action against terrorists", India launched a
non-military preemptive action. Indian Air Force fighter jets crossed the Line of
Control and destroyed the biggest training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot.
In a historic move, the Indian government revoked Article 370 of the
constitution, which grants special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu
and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2019 has been passed, paving way for the
bifurcation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir into the Union Territories of
Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
India is now the land of reform, perform and transform. The 'zero defect zero
effect' phrase which came with Make in India campaign has shown positive impact
on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of India. Sustainable development in
the country is progressing by imposing high-quality manufacturing standards while
minimizing environmental and ecological impact. The implementation of Goods and
Services Tax (GST) and demonetization have made the industry as a whole much
more transparent and accountable. India leapfrogged to the 77th rank in the
World Bank's latest Ease of Doing Business rankings (2019), jumping 23
notches from 2018.
Farmers have always been the back-bone of our country. To strengthen this back-
bone of the country several innovative and solid measures have been formulated
such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Paramparagat Krishi
Vikas Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana to name but a few.
India took a historic step towards women empowerment with the passage of the
Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 criminalizing
triple talaq.
The golden girl, Hima Das has achieved what no Indian athlete has done before.
The Sprinter has won five gold medals in 19 days in various international athletics
competitions thereby making India Proud.
India’s second moon mission, Chandrayaan-2 was successfully launched by
ISRO’s GSLV-MarkIII-M1 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
Chandrayaan 2 is India’s first space mission to be steered by two women —
project director Muthayya Vanitha and mission director Ritu Karidhal.
India stands tall as a military space power. DRDO successfully conducted Mission
Shakti, an anti-satellite missile test by eliminating India’s decommissioned satellite.
This achievement has promoted our country to the exclusive club of space super
powers including the United States, Russia and China.
Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam said, “When learning is purposeful, creativity blossoms.
When creativity blossoms, thinking emanates. When thinking emanates, knowledge
is fully lit. When knowledge is lit, economy flourishes.” Let’s work together to fulfill
our dream of becoming a developed country with utmost sincerity and dedication.
Jai Hind!
