Always follow all Safety, Warning, Caution and Precaution information that is provided in the appropriate Service Manual and Operation and Maintenance Manual(s).

RESOLUTION
When troubleshooting this combination of codes, we suggest that one of the first tests would be the
inverter ohm test. Disconnect the battery, discharge the inverter capacitor as indicated in the Service
Manual (page 1-45). Remove all the cables to the inverter and re-install the nuts on to the POS (F),
NEG, U, V, and W terminals to ensure proper connections inside the inverter. Perform the ohm test
following the manual pages (page 1-62) on checking the inverter.

Note: It is very important to re-install the nuts on the POS (F), NEG, U, V, and W terminals or the
connections inside the inverter will not be made and your readings will not be correct.

Removal and Installation

Inverter Discharging Procedure

Discharge electric charges stored in the inverters by using
the following procedure.
1. Turn off the key switch.
2. Disconnect the battery plug.
3. Remove the rear cover.

4. Place a 150 Ω/25 W resistor between P and N

terminals in the traction inverter to discharge electric
charges stored in the inverter.
5. After touching the resistor to the P and N terminals for
approx. five seconds, measure the voltage between the
terminals with a multimeter and confirm a reading of 5
V or less.
6. Perform the same procedure for the pump inverter in
order to discharge electric charges from all inverters.

Check whether the resistance between + and - of the battery

plug on the truck side is 1 kΩ or more when connecting the
battery plug for the first time after maintenance. 211415
(Discharge electric charges completely before measuring.
Longer measurement time reduces resistance value.)

Checking Inverter

! CAUTION
Disconnect the battery plug and discharge the
inverter before working on electrical system.
Be sure discharging is complete before starting
ohm measurements.

1. Disconnect all five power cables from F, N, U, V and

W terminals.
2. Check the resistance between terminals shown in the
following table.

N V - +
W

NOTICE: Short-circuit/disconnection of the inverter

MOSFET can be confirmed by this check.
Other fault cannot be determined.

NOTE: On diode scale you will read about .460 volts

on al test.
