Of these emerging trends to our culture and society, it is not inevitable that there are positive and

negative implications. The development and adoption of technology have helped societies raise
productivity, inclusivity of services and improve overall well-being. On the other hand, the negative impact
of technology on society involves mass-made products, with most often blamed: social media. A multitude
of research has been made on the topic where social media is listed as a number one place with
misinformation, hate speech, and harassment on the one hand, and a place leaving people isolated and
depressed on the other. Following are the more in depth positive and negative implications;

 POSITIVE
 A vast network of information and communication is available, conveniently
accessible, and exchanged around the world for the benefit of society.
 There is increased knowledge and understanding, improvements in industry and jobs
and an interconnectedness of the world as a result of globalization.
 Technology development and adoption have helped societies in increasing
productivity, expanding service accessibility, and improving general well-being.
 The universal value of technology is to provide equality to products and services
while also reducing socioeconomic inequalities between cultures and people. As
previously said, technology makes health and education more accessible to more
individuals, making it simpler to learn and get treatment regardless of background.
 Healthcare & wellness advancements. As we know, technology has great potential to
improve health and health systems. From clinical drug testing using AI to the
realization of preventive patient monitoring and wellness solutions such as
wearables. We've seen how technology has closed the healthcare gap during a
pandemic. Telemedicine apps are the first step in making health care more equitable
and accessible to everyone, regardless of socio-economic status.
 Start-ups and healthcare tech companies move significantly faster than traditional
companies and face less regulatory obstacles.
 Insights into the world of (EdTech). We currently have a plethora of learning
platforms that aggregate courses for various age groups, as well as courses from
other disciplines and companies. Videos, interactive boards, or games for practice
are generally included. Education is now far more accessible and scalable than it has
ever been.
 Technology's influence on education extends beyond virtual learning. Artificial

 It has resulted in a breakdown in communication and human interaction.
 It stripped away society's morals and values, encouraging a dependency on
quick satisfaction and fostering pessimism.
 It has led to an inability to handle normal tasks or to the misuse of widely
available information.
 Fake news & misinformation. Deep fakes are a current menace that has caused
a lot of anguish for all social media sites. There have already been a number of
deep fake occurrences.
 Social media’s impact on mental health. Numerous studies showed that social
media exposure might lead to a prolonged feeling of loneliness and detachment.
The popularly used phrase, FOMO (fear of missing out), is linked directly to
intensive social media use.

Despite the negative and positive implications of these emerging trends to our culture and
society, it boils down to the people, on how are we going to utilize or use the technology, where we can
acquire benefits from positive implications, and it on how are we going to respond with the negative
implications as we live.
