1.1

INTRODUCTION Purpose

The purpose of this Risk Management Plan (RMP) is to describe the methodology for identifying, mitigating, and avoidance of risk that are likely to occur during the implementation of Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST-1) Cable & Circuit Breaker Modification Project. This document defines the risk management roles and responsibilities of the Al Ahamadiah Contracting Team 1.2 Scope

The scope of this document pertains to the MIST-1 Cable & Circuit Breaker Modification Project and its internal and external risks. The risk management methodology identified in this document will be primarily used by Al Ahamadiah Contracting team and is to be used during the entire Modification of the Cables and Circuit Breaker in Masdar Institute of Science and Technology MIST-1 Project. 2. PARTICIPANTS ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This section describes the roles and responsibilities of the Al Ahamadiah Contracting (AAC) staff with regard to the Risk Management Plan. Office of Systems Integration (OSI) A. The Engineers The Engineer is involved in overall monitoring risk action effectiveness and participating in risk escalation. The Engineer also has the responsibility to communicate to certain project stakeholders, on or as needed basis. B. Supervisors The role of the Supervisor is to provide leadership and collaborative directions and instructions to the Lead Electricians and Electricians. C. Lead Electrician Performed supervisory, skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the installation, monitoring, troubleshooting and testing of Electrical System. Work under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor.

Risk Management Process The MIST-1 Project Risk Management Plan summarizes the Risk Management process for the Modification of Cables and Circuit Breaker in Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST-1) Project. It portrays the high-level process steps of the Risk Management process, which are:

A. Risk Identification: There are four major factors affecting effective completion of the MSB-1A3 shutdown and re-energization. A.1. MANPOWER

Qualification of the personnel may change the performance of the group. The quantity of the qualified skilled staff affect the quality and speed of work thus work lag might likely to occur. A.2. FAILURE ON THE DSB and MCC MCB DURING RE-ENERGIZATION Failure to do final inspection and testing which cause by human error like improper termination, loose connection and the likes can result in loss of energy supply, fire/explosions and or personnel injury. A.3. FAILURE IN MAIN INCOMING ACB (MSB-1A3) Failure to do final inspection and testing which cause by human error like improper termination, loose connection and the likes can result in loss of energy supply, fire/explosions and or personnel injury. A.4. INABILITY TO FINISH EACH TASK AS PER SCHEDULE Time allotted to perform a specific task during the modification of cables and circuit breaker will have a huge impact on the Institute operation, building air-conditioning system, sewerage system, potable water, BMS and Airquity system and lighting.

C. Risk Mitigation & Avoidance C.1. MANPOWER The contractor will ensure that the qualified personnel will conduct the work for modification of cables and circuit breaker. It will ensure as well that there will be enough manpower to deploy to cover both works and for standby. C.2. FAILURE ON MCB Follow the step-by-step procedure as per attached shutdown and re-energization procedure to avoid failure. Emergency generator will be provided and will be connected to the crucial DSB. C.3. FAILURE ON MAIN INCOMING ACB (Not likely to happen) Follow the step-by-step procedure as per attached shutdown and re-energization procedure to avoid failure. Emergency generator will be provided and will be connected to the crucial LV Panel, i.e MCC Chilled water Pumps DSB-1AU-E902 (emergency battery system) and DSB-1AU-02 (sump pump) C.4. INABILITY TO FINISH EACH TASK ON TIME Work will be monitored to ensure that each task will be finish on time as per schedule.
