INTUITION
I was literally awestruck while reading
the line, “It is also explained that the
paramathma, the supreme personality of
Godhead, is living in every one’s heart as
Isvara, as the controller and that ‘He’ is
giving directions for the living entity to
act as he desires,” as it is very relatable
with our day-to-day lives.
We all have had intuitions and been
astonished at the miracles of their
happening. Why do we feel the impulses
before the actual events occur? These,
according to me, are the signals sent by
‘Him’ to govern our lives and so I daresay
that ‘He’ has been instructing me in the
recent past to pursue writing.
I have been observing repeating and

fancy numbers for the past six months
like 12:12,12:34,11:11 in my mobile
phone, clock, and various digital
appliances. I have witnessed the same in
the bill number when I purchased food
recently and I vividly remember that last
week when I went to watch a movie, I
noticed my theater number to be ‘111’.
Probably the intensity of my surprise
may be underrated here but I swear that
the frequency of occurrence of these
figures each day is pretty high. This
induced in me a curiosity to figure out
the mystery behind this , ‘my deemed
surreality’. I researched on the internet
to infer that this is an indication from
the angels communicating to us to pay
attention to our moments, thoughts and

ambitions which will keep repeating
until the appropriate step is taken.
I observed, the more I think about
my passion and pursuit for writing, the
more these fancy figures pop up from
any random source making me intuitive
to progress my writing career. Trust me,
while writing this article, my cell phone
beside me beeped to display 11:11 PM .
I henceforth translate these as
intuitions, signaled by the Paramathma.

each and every order of his parents.

that his father wouldn’t have to go back on his promise given
to Kaikeyi. Rama leaves to exile with Seeta and Lakshmana.
Rama, even after the death of his father, decides not to go
back to Ayodhya till the completion of 14 years, as promised
to his father. In spite of facing so much hardship in the
forest, he never thought of going back to Ayodhya and
lead a royal life. Thus, Rama epitomizes the absolute
devoted son, who can sacrifice anything for his
parents. His magnificent and obedient natural soul,
as a responsible elder son, doubled the respect for
him.

Rama’s love for Seeta is so pure and infinite

that he had taken an oath to always be loyal only
and only to her (ekapathnivrath), alike other
kings who were in polygamous marriages. He
respected her choice of joining him in the forest
during his exile. He always gave her equal
authority in decision making. Rama tried to
convince her not to sacrifice her comforts for his
sake, but she accompanied him to forest and he
respected her decision to fulfil her duty to him as a
wife.
He was deeply upset when Seeta was abducted
by Ravana, Rama had not lost hope and decided to
conquer Ravana and rescue her from Lanka. After
peace proposals that were sent to Ravana via
Hanuman failed, Rama and his allies attacked
Lanka, defeated Ravana and brought Seetha
back. Rama, with the help of Hanuman and
Vanaras, built a bridge to Lanka to cross the sea
and reached Lanka, this shows his love and respect for
Seetha which never stopped, not even through all these Lord Rama always proved that he possessed all qualities
hardships. He taught all of us how to be bound to our of a true leader. Principally, his leadership attributions offer
relationship in an impeccable manner - by the rules of many lessons for contemporary society. In many universities

Some qualities that today’s
generation must adopt from Rama to be
a good leader are:
1. Selflessness: A leader should be like
him who is strong enough to forego
personal interests to support the
right values and common interests.
2. Empathy: it is a lesson from Rama’s
life that a leader must be
compassionate enough and possess
love towards his followers.
3 Sagacity: He was not an egoist
leader like the present-day leaders,
and would put common interests
above all.
4. Fearlessness: He was courageous
enough who always fought for the
right cause. It was also proved when
he fought with the enraged Vali and

defeated him who enslaved Sugreev’s
wife.
5. Righteousness: His humbleness,
dignified nature (Maryaada
Purushotham), wisdom, and
righteousness were seen in all his
deeds. Lord Hanuman became
Rama’s Bhakta only for these
qualities.
An enormous level of impeccable
control of Rama over his feelings and
emotions has been the signatory
characteristic that always makes all of us
feel so divine about him.
He is a true leader who never forced
his followers to take his path, he only
inspired them to follow his qualities and
gave them full freedom, and was a true
democrat. Studying Ramayana is an
easier way to learn leadership in a better
way than attending training seminars
and workshops.
Lastly, in today's world, where
disputes between siblings for power and
properties take a commonplace, where
divorce rates are drastically inclining,
and where it is difficult to find a leader
who is selfless, Ramayana needs to be
glorified in a large range so that people
start realizing the values faithfully.
Rama Avatar was nothing short of a
challenge, as he experienced all the
hardships despite being a man of great
principles, but all the inspiring characters
in Ramayana never deviated from the
path of dharma.
Since centuries, his life and the Epic
continue to inspire millions of people
across the globe and will continue to
inspire to choose the right path. Let us
all continue to follow Lord Rama’s path
in terms of showing what value of a
character means, what it is to love and
respect our parents, showing the value of
a promise made, being a good sibling, a
dedicated friend, and on top of all a very
good leader, and bring the glory of Rama
Rajya back.

“A life lived in fear is a life half lived,”
this quotation best suits the way we led
our lives in the year 2020. As humans,
we have our own goals to be reached and
have hunger for security. Year 2020
proved that life is full of uncertainties as
global pandemic made the lives of
people across the globe miserable, it
made us go through a lot. During 2020,
we Indians also went through a lot of
crises like other countries and faced a lot
of fears around deaths, health issues,
financial crunches, and a lot more.
Probably one of the few good things
that happened in 2020 was work
initiation for restoration of Ram Temple
in Rama Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya. Issues
that revolve around the control of a site
traditionally regarded among Hindus to
be the birthplace of their deity, Rama,
came to an end after the Supreme Court
Verdict. This temple holds with it a lot
of emotions that are attached with
Hindus across the globe, as Lord Ram is
one of the widely worshiped Hindu
deities.
What Happened to the Original
Ram Mandir (the birth place of Ram) at
Ayodhya
There are palaces of queens,
Sumithra and Keykeyi and King
Dasharath in Ayodhya that we can see
now also, but one palace was missing. It
is the palace of queen Kaushalya who
was mother of prince Ram, an
incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who is
admired and worshiped by Hindus
around the world.
Ayodhya also has a place called
Kanak palace which was gifted to Janki,
the wife of Rama as her nuptial gift. In
this also, a temple exists. But no palace
of Kaushalya is in sight now.
Approximately 492 years ago Babur,
founder of Mughal empire, an invader
from the West attacked India and stayed
back in Delhi. He had a male consort
slave, a boy aged 16 years who was

all sections generously contributed

from remote villages fading all
religious barriers just to see Ram
lalla in his birthplace.
The Ram Mandir will be almost
double the size of what was
originally planned, with five domes
instead of two to accommodate
more number of devotees. The
temple will have a tower over the
sanctum sanctorum. The expected
height of the temple is 161 feet tall
and the width of the stairs will be
16 feet.
Ram Mandir is likely to be
completed in the next three years.
Hopefully with Lord Ram’s
blessings, we will restore the glory
of sacred Ayodhya back and will get
rid of the pandemic recession,
soaring infection rates, and fears of

named Babri which means ‘belonging to
Babur.’ This boy died in one of the
battles. The commander of Babur
namely Meer Baki attacked Ayodhya
and demolished the Ram Temple in
Kaushalya Palace, and built a mosque
like structure on demolished building,
named it after a slave i.e. Babri, and left.
The building was definitely not a
mosque as it did not have a place to wazu
(a mandatory ritual for a Muslim before
preparation for any holy task).
Worshippers of Ram started doing
prayers outside in courtyard. Many
bloody wars ensued from time to time
for Ram Mandir. But in 1857, Hindus
and Muslims decided to maintain
communal harmony and made a pact to
pray within the temple-mosque site in
two demarcated portions, but the
disputes for the ownership of the place
continued.
On December 6, 1992, revengeful
violent situations took place in Ayodhya,
and this issue went to the Supreme
Court of India. After a very long waiting
time, Supreme Court of India heard the
title dispute cases and on November 9,
2019, announced its verdict and vacated
the previous decision, ordered the land
to be handed over to a trust to build the
Hindu temple. It also ordered the
government to give an alternate five-acre
tract of land to the Uttar Pradesh Sunni
Central Waqf Board to build the
mosque. The Supreme Court has given
this decision based on the evidence
given by The Archaeological Survey of
India. During excavation of the site,
they found remains of a temple.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi,
laid down the foundation stone of a
Ram Temple at the site in Ayodhya on
August 5, 2020.
Wait of centuries is now over, and a
grand temple will now be built for our
Lord who had been staying outside his
house for decades.

E ar piercings has become one of the
trendy things that today's youth has
been following. Ear piercing centres are
also increasing with increase in demand
for piercing in youth.
Piercing of the ear has advanced so
much that people have started getting
pierced at different places of the earlobe.
Ear piercing can be done at different
places on the ear lobe and depending on
the place of piercing on the earlobe, they
are named like Daith piercing, conch
piercing, tragus piercing, industrial
piercing, and rook piercing are some
followed by today's young generation
girls and boys. An average individual
can get more than twenty different
places of ear pierced.
Ear piercing dates back to about
centuries ago, and carries both spiritual
and cultural significance. Spiritually in
early periods, some communities
believed that ear piercing stops evil
spirits to possess humans that enter
through the ears.
Apart from Asian countries, this has
also been evidenced by the holes found
on Tutankhamun’s mummy, which says
us that it was followed as a custom in
Egypt during ancient times.
Samburu is an African dynasty
where fighters are made to pierce their
ears and put on earplugs to signify that
they have become men and are brave.

was done as a significance for men who
worked in the King’s court.
There are plenitude of customs that
are followed in Indian tradition and
culture. During ancient times, saints
and learned people have practiced few
traditions that can have a positive impact
on both our mind and body. Ear
piercing is one ritual that is deeply
related to Hinduism that has both
scientific as well as religious relevance.
Ear piercing or ‘Karna Vedha’ is one
of the sixteen ceremonies (Shodhasa
Samskara) that a person undergoes in
his or her life between his or her birth to

A civil engineer turned magician
creates a new path for villagers
Magical revolution
in rural banking
F ine arts like dance, painting, music, magic, etc not only offer
recreation but also help people to seek relief from stress and
mental disturbances. It is a proven fact that fine arts are
meant not only for entertainment, but also for enlightenment.
Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, started to practice
truth after watching the drama ‘Sathya Harischandra.’ Pride
of the Nation, Missile Man, former president of India, Dr.
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam reiterated on several occasions that
Sree Lakshmi music always inspired him. An ancient form of art called
magic also stands beside the fine arts.
Known as ‘Indrajalam’, the art of magic is regarded as one of the 64 recognised
art forms in our culture. Patronized by royalty in earlier times it was regarded as one
of the most intriguing arts. Society regarded magicians as demi-gods who could create
things out of thin air!
But in recent times, lack of encouragement, patrons, resulted in the dwindling of this
majestic art. Any art form can be saved from disappearing into oblivion by persistent efforts
of committed people in the society. Sri Vemulapati Madhava Rao, an Industrial magician of
International repute, has dedicated his career and life for the cause of the society. Aptly hailed
as “The champion of Social reforms”, Sri Madhava Rao has been doing yeoman service to the
rural class with an ardent passion to educate and enlighten them. He chose an interesting
medium to attract the rural masses; Magic….
A civil engineer turned magician, Sri Madhava Rao is the only magician in the country who
has been doing phenomenal service in the rural sector through his innovative magical skills. His
aim is to educate the people about the various policies and schemes of the government initiated
for the benefit of the rural class. Illiteracy and lack of awareness hold a barrier for people to reap
benefits of various schemes and policies in rural India. Only a compassionate heart can think of
their plight and look for ways to reach out to them. Sri Madhava Rao in his own way has been
doing the best to the society with his talent
Sri Madhava Rao has been honoured with prestigious national and state awards for his
immense contribution to the society. He is the proud World Record holder of highest number of
magic shows..
We are pleased to introduce Sri Vemulapati Madhava Rao to our readers.
In a conversation with Sreelakshmi Avadhanam, Sri Madhava Rao spoke at length about his
passion, ambition and achievements.

Sri Lakshmi: How were you
attracted to magic and who is
your inspiration
Madhava Rao: While I lost my job as
a civil engineer in government
due to paucity of funds, I stood
on cross roads. Then, magic
stood before me as an alternative.
I learnt ABCDs of the art from a
tribal sect called ‘Vipravinodhulu’
(whose history can be traced back
to the reign of Sri Krishna Deva
Raya) who perform in rural areas
for their livelihood. Later, I
enhanceD my knowledge by
watching several magic shows and
also read relevant books. Also, I
was in discipleship under
renowned magician Sri B. V.
Pattabhiram for quite some time.
I learnt from him how to perform
a show on stage by direct
observations of his shows. Over
the years, with experience I
refined my skill and started
performances on stages in my
unique style.
SL: How do you turn towards social
service?
MR: Joining Rotary club in 1988 is
an important development in any
life, where I decided my goal after
meeting people of various
professions. After I became
secretary of Rotary Club of
Kavali, SPSR Nellore District, my
work area has expanded. As a
secretary, I conducted many
social service campaigns and
events.
In the same year, two more
incidents influenced me to set a
goal for my life. When I visited
Madras, I happened to see two
lepers begging for food outside of
a hotel. Another incident is, one
of my close relatives died of

SL: Do you have any sponsors to

MR:No, only nationalized banks
such as IOB , Andhra Bank,
Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank,
RBI, and NABARD are

SL: Do you feel you have achieved

results that are achieved at record
level. After my shows in rural
areas, savings accounts/deposits
have increased in banks. People
are in long queues to avail
government schemes through
banks. It is the greatest
satisfaction. But I do not want to
stop and rest as there is a lot more
to be achieved.
SL: How about the support of your
family members?
MR:Initially, no one supported me
except my mother. After I gained
popularity through my shows,
and publicity through News
articles. Slowly everyone in the
family, friends and relatives
started recognising and
respecting me.
SL: How do you feel about the
awards and rewards?
MR:Actually, they are like a crown
with thorns, as they brought in
more responsibilities and also
made me realize that I have to be
very cautious further. Of course,
I am happy with these
achievements, but I never carry it
to my head, I just forget them
very soon after receiving them.
SL: How many awards did you
receive in India and abroad?
MR:Among several awards and
recognitions, important ones are
the 12 National awards, two
international awards, and 20 state
awards.
Sri Madhava Rao is a true karma yogi
as described in Bhagavadgeeta.
His extraordinary achievements
are testimonials of his great
calibre and perseverance. Rarely
do we come across such noble
souls who dedicate their lives to
make a difference in society. The
least we can do is to at least
recognise, appreciate and honour
them.

A gunfight broke out in Terram jungles along the borders of Bijapur and districts in
Chhattisgarh between the Soldiers and the Maoists that resulted in the death of
22 soldiers, 32 soldiers were injured, and one was reported missing on April 3rd,
Saturday. The officials also confirmed the death of a suspected Maoist. PM Narendra
Modi expressed grief over the incident and added that the soldier's sacrifices 'will never
be forgotten.' He also tweeted, "My thoughts are with the families of those martyred
Jawans while fighting with Maoists in Chhattisgarh. May the injured recover at the
earliest." Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the security personnel and
gave condolences to their families. Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, a CRPF jawan captured
by the Maoists, was released deep in the jungle and was brought to the Terram camp on
Thursday, April 8th. The abducted jawan returned safely to the Terram Police Station with the facilitators who traced his
location inside the jungle.

NGO to file a case against the Goa Forest

Department for approving 99% of tree
felling applications
A n NGO has revealed that the Goa forest department has been
approving almost all the tree felling applications. The approval rate for
tree felling as per the Living Heritage Foundation NGO is nearly 99.3%.
They moved to the Bombay High Court in Goa and filed a status report
regarding their functioning under the Goa Preservation of Trees Act, 1984.
The RTI applications revealed that over a decade out of all the applications
received, only 0.3% got rejected. Out of 4041 tree felling applications, 2537 applications got sanctioned, and only 19
applications got rejected. The remaining applications are kept pending. The NGO also mentioned that "this is only the tip
of an iceberg as most of the trees are often fell without any permission". Calls made to several officers in the forest department
were unanswered, and the Deputy Conservator of Forests responded but held back commenting on the matter.

B uckingham Palace has announced the death of Prince Philip, aged 99, Queen Elizabeth
II's husband. The statement issued by Buckingham Palace during midday spoke of the
Queen's deep sorrow after his death in Windsor Castle on Friday morning, April 9th.
Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, was the longest-serving royal consort in British
history, standing by the Queen's side for more than six decades of her reign. The Palace
mentioned, "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty, The Queen announces the death of
her beloved husband. The Royal Family joins with people around the world in mourning
his loss". Prince Charles travelled from his home in Gloucestershire to visit his mother, The
Queen, in Windsor Castle. The funeral arrangements will take place in St George's Chapel,
Windsor, following all the safety precautions necessary for the CoronaVirus Pandemic.

M ore than 70 vaccination centres in Mumbai have shut down

due to the shortage of doses. According to the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Mumbai has 120
vaccination centres, out of which 71 centres have run out of
vaccines. A Jumbo vaccination centre at the BKC, Mumbai's
most important commercial zone, is also shut down, and a lot of
protestors were at the centre. The Dean of the Centre, Rajesh
Dere, said "From Day 1 we used to get vaccines a day ahead as
buffer stock, till yesterday we got a sufficient number of vials for
this centre. Last night we were expecting to get today's dose, but
it has not come. Now we have only 160 doses". The State Health Minister alleged the BJP ruling by saying that Maharashtra
was receiving fewer doses considering its population when compared to other states.

Discovery of a 3000-year-old “lost city” in

Egypt near Luxor
A rchaeologists discovered a 3000-year-old ancient city in Egypt near
Luxor on Thursday, April 8th. The place was laid unseen for centuries
near some of Egypt's best monuments. Egyptologist Zahi Hawass
announced the discovery and said it was dated back 3400 years ago during
Egypt's most prominent pharaohs rule from 1391 to 1353 BC. The team
started searching for a mortuary temple at the beginning around September
last year and found mud-brick foundations within a few weeks of the
search. The excavation revealed that the city had complete walls and rooms
with the tools for daily use like coloured pottery vessels, rings etc. The lost city is the second most important archaeological
discovery since the Tutankhamun tomb discovery. Egyptologists also said that this discovery would give a glimpse of how
the ancient Egyptians during this reign led their life because the empire was the wealthiest during that period.

M ahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, was fined INR 12
lakh for Code Conduct Breach. In their first match on Saturday, April 10th, the
CSK captain was fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their game
against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede stadium. As this was the CSK's first offence, the
captain was fined instead of suspending him. The minimum over-rate is to be 14.11
overs per hour without including the time taken by the time-outs. To control the match
timings, in each innings, the 20th over is included within 90 minutes. Earlier it was to
start on or before the 90th minute. The BCCI official said that the penalty would remain
unchanged for a second offence, with the CSK skipper Dhoni a fine of 24 lakhs and the
remaining team members a fine of 6 lakhs each or a 25% match fee.

C ricket is a literature sport. We rarely
see so many biographies or
autobiographies of legends of any sport
than we see in cricket. It was always
billed as a gentlemen’s sport.
The era of WG Grace, Sir Don
Bradman, and Sir Jack Hobbs
culminated in the popularity of the
sport to spread to all the colonies of the
British Empire. The South Africans
became adept at cricket, India had a
team of their own, it was gaining

supreme popularity in the Caribbean
and the younger siblings of India, viz

took to the sport with a lot of passion.
ODI cricket has given the sport a
