*** Four characters in "Who moved my Cheese?" are confronted with

radical changes; each responds differently when his cheese suddenly
runs out. Do you see a change as a challenge or are you paralyzed by
it? That’s the crisp of the book.

Characters In The Story:

Two nice were named as "sniff" and "scurry"

Two little people were named as "Hem" and "Haw".

Due to their small size, it would be easy not to notice what the four of them were doing. But if we
looked closely we could discover the most amazing things.

Search For The Cheese:

Every day Mice and the little people spent time in the maze looking for their own special cheese.

As different as the Mice and Little people were, they shared something in common: Every Morning,
they put on shoes, left their little homes, and raced out into the maze looking for their favourite
cheese.

The Mice used a simple trial and error method of finding cheese. They remembered the corridors
that held no cheese and quickly went into new areas. They went off in the wrong direction and often
bumped into walls.

But the little people Hem and Haw relied on their complex brains to develop more sophisticated
methods of finding cheese.

Sometimes little people did well but at other times their so-called powerful human beliefs and
emotions took over and clouded the way they looked at things. It made life in the Maze more
complicated and challenging.

Found Cheese Station “C”

One fine day, all four found their own kind of cheese at station C.

After that discovery, sniff and scurry continued to wake early every day and race through the maze,
always following the same routine.

When they arrived at the cheese station they tied their shoes hung it around their neck. So they
could quickly get it whenever they needed them again.

In the beginning Hem and Has also followed the same routine as the Mice. But after a while, they
started a different routine. Awoke a little later, dressed little slower and walked slowly to cheese
station C. Because they knew where the cheese and how to get it.

They had no idea where the cheese came from, or who put it there. They just assumed it would be
there forever. They are becoming very comfortable.

They even decorated the walls with the saying “Having Cheese Makes You Happy”.

Confidence Grew Into The Arrogance Of Success

Every night little people would waddle home and every morning they would confidently return for
more. They become so comfortable they didn’t even notice what was happening.

Sniff And Scurry’s Strategy

Mice have consistently followed their routine. They arrived each morning and sniffed and scurried
around cheese station C, to see if there had been any changes from the day before.

Cheese At Station C Vanished

One morning all four get to know that there is no cheese available at station C.

Sniff and Scurry had noticed the supply of cheese had been getting smaller day by day, they were
prepared for the inevitable and knew instinctively what to do.

They laced up their shoes and started running to find another cheese station in the maze. The Mice
didn’t overanalyze things. To the Mice problem and the answer were both simple, They were quickly
off in search of new Cheese.

Hem and Haw had not been paying attention to the small changes that had been taking place each
day, so they took it for granted their cheese would be there. And unprepared for the change.

They hollered “WHO MOVED MY CHEESE”

While sniff and scurry had quickly moved on, Hem and Haw continued to Hem and Haw…

While Hem and Haw were still trying to decide what to do, sniff and scurry were already well on
their way.

CHEESE STATION “N”

The Mice didn’t find any for some time until they find the cheese station “N” with the amount of
cheese they have never seen before.

In the meantime, at station “C” both became frustrated, and angry and blamed each other for their
situation.

If You Don’t Change, You Will Become Extinct

Among Hem and Haw, Haw decided to move out and look for the cheese. Whereas Hem decided to
stay there and wait for the cheese to come to station “C”.

What Would You Do If You Were Not Afraid

As Haw started into the maze, he looked back to where he had come from and felt its comfort.

He became more anxious and wondered if he really wanted to go out into the maze. Then he wrote
a saying on the wall ahead of him and stared at it for some time

” What would you do if you’re not afraid”.
