Team Members:

What team members will you need to help the Tyrell Corporation succeed in making

their project a success? In this case, consider that you will need to account for all web

content, as well as how you will sell the products on the site, and how you will actually

build the site. What role will each team member play? Be as detailed as possible in

this section.

Website design and development is a project involving multiple tasks requiring a

team with specialized experience in their own field. Due to complexity of the tasks, it is

impossible to have a single person (full-stack developer) complete all of them on a

professional level without risking project quality. The Tyrell Corporation is looking to

redesign its website to become more marketable and promote its brand and various

products; including the brand-new Nexus-6 Replicant. To do so, I came up with the

following team:

• Project Manager –The PM will keep communication with customer and team,

schedule the project and provide estimates, plan out resources and task

allocation, coordinate joint efforts, monitor project progress, plan for risks or

contingencies, and measure quality/success.

• Content Experts (Marketing) – These experts are similar to analysts in which they

translate customer requirements into specifications and through research of

trends would create and design content that is engaging or would draw the

attention of customers and prospects. Content experts will audit Tyrell

Corporation current website and identify key pages and content. They will utilize

this information as well as their research to create a new design that is visually

appealing and promote Tyrell brand and products; with an emphasis on the

Nexus 6 – Replicant.

• Sales Executives (Promote) – They will establish contact and develop contact

with prospects, maintain relationships with clients, and research and recommend

new opportunities for profit and service improvements. They will utilize their skills

to come up with ideas to gain customers, sell products, and promote the brand.

• Web Experts (Architect/Designers) – Consists of architects who decide which

web app is most suitable for the business needs based on the customer’s

requirements. Also includes designers (UI/UX) who are responsible for the

layout and wireframe of the web app. They ensure that the expectations of future

targeted audience is captured.

• Web Developers (Front-End and Back-End Developers) – Front end developers

are responsible for programming and manifesting designer layouts to transform

interface into a fully functional web app. Back end developers creates the server

side of the web app.

• Quality Assurance Specialist (Testers) – These specialists test product quality

throughout project lifecycle to ensure full functionality and content meets

customer needs and project intent.

Anticipated Project Risks:

Create a list of project risks that you foresee for this project. How will your identified

team members help you, as the PM, mitigate any project risks that might come up? Be

as detailed as possible in this section.

Some of the predicted risks that may occur in this web design/development

project include too many decision makers, staff turnover, scope creep, underestimating

time and resource commitment, data migration, and platform compatibility. As the

project manager, it is important to include your team in the risk management plan to

ensure that any risks associated with certain areas of specialty in the development

process is addressed. Communication is key in establishing a healthy culture which in

turn creates high morale and productivity with team members. To mitigate some of the

risks mentioned, PMs would have to ensure that status updates are clear and

accessible to new members in case of turnover. Involving team members in the

estimation of time and resource are crucial as they are better able to make that

determination in correlation with their assigned tasks. Integrating new systems,

migrating data, and determining compatibility are all things that should be identified

early on as it is mission-critical for project success. Identification, evaluation, and

handling can all be done by following an effective risk management framework.
