MATERIALS NEEDED :
• Any yarn you want and appropriate crochet hook.
ABBREVIATIONS :
• Chain – ch
• Slip stitch - slst
• Single crochet – sc
• Increase – V
• Back loops only – BLO
PATTERN OF AMMONITE :
Important : To make the ribbed stitch, you have to crochet in BLO from the beginning to the end
of your work.
→ Ch 3
Row 1 : starting in second ch from hook, 2 sc (2), 1 ch, turn your work
Row 2 : 1 V, 1 sc (3), ch 1, turn your work
Row 3 : 3 sc (3), ch 1, turn your work
Row 4 : 1 sc, 1 V, 1 sc (4), ch 1, turn your work
Row 5 : 4 sc (4), ch 1, turn your work
Etc... to 30 sc or 36 sc for exemple, it depends on size you want.
DON'T FASTEN OFF NOW !
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. You have now a long cone.
To “close” the cone, crochet a circle with 30 sc if you finished triangle with 30 sc, crochet a circle
with 36 sc if you finished triangle with 36 sc, etc...
According to this pattern :
Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing circle on the top of the cone, like this :
Begin roll up the cone and sewing at the same time. Here are ammonites from the backside :
