Culminating Project Outline
State the Purpose
 We will be discussing the importance of organizational assessments, how they can be
applied to our organization, and the benefits that can come from conducting an
organizational assessment. We will do this by taking a look at a website (created by me)
that includes all of the information that we would possibly need in order to grasp a
better understanding on organizational assessments within our company.
Key Aspects of OA
 Organizational assessment is an evaluation of an organization’s aspects to determine
the organization’s performance and can be used to make improvements.
 OAs are conducted by a diverse team of unbiased employees rather than a higher
position.
 Commitment and teamwork are needed in order to conduct an OA.
 All aspects of the organization should be evaluated (Assessment for Organizational and
Community Development: Introduction, p.3).
 It is up to the team conducting the OA to decide which is assessment is most
appropriate for the organization (Charles, L., Marie-Hélène, A., Gary, A., Plinio, G., &
Carden, M. H., 2002).
Benefits
 Identifies problems so we can fix them to improve performance.
 Addresses the concerns of the stakeholders.
 Prevents issues from arising and acknowledges root problems.
Good to Great Model
 This is an assessment model used to assess an organization’s framework.
 Employees are most important to the organization.
 Employees determine the success of the organization.
 Put the right people in the right positions.
 Examines the commitment that the company has to its core values.
LESAT
 This is a self-assessment questionnaire used to measure the current state of the
organization and envision the future of the organization (MIT, 2012).
 This is used to measure the success of the organization and can be used to prioritize
tasks to transform the organization.
 Identifies the organization’s strengths and weaknesses.
 Enables better decision making within the organization.
