PCBT & Mendeley organized FDP on Citation Management using

Mendeley
Phagwara, November 27,2021; Pyramid College of Business & Technology in
collaboration with Elsevier organized FDP on Citation Management using
Mendeley on 27 November at 2:00 Pm in order to make awareness/better use
among the faculty members and research scholars. More than 46 faculty
members attended the workshop with prior registration and the participants
were informed about the advantages of Mendeley and were given hands-on
training on how to use the software. The workshop focused on creating
citations and bibliographies, accessing and synchronizing accounts on
Mendeley so that the researcher can easily access this.
The resource Person, Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Certified Mendeley advisor
introduces briefly the main concepts of citation management and common
tools and gives detailed instruction for installing and using Mendeley, one of
the most popular management tools. Mendeley is one of the frequently using
and most popular citation management applications for citing and referencing.
Various contents covered by the expert include: Installation on Mandeley,
creating a library, searching online databases for importing citation into
Mendeley library, attaching full-text PDF articles and books, changing groups
and smart groups, importing citation into word documents, hands-on practices
to the participants and towards end the common problems of the participants
were also discussed.
Prof Jatinder Singh Bedi, Chairman PCBT said that the session was very
interactive with a good number of participants who were very appreciative of
the technical expertise of the speaker.
Ms. Sachleen Bedi, Vice president PCBT urged that the entire session was
interesting and the plethora of information presented by the expert will help
to adopt a specific style of creating references.
Dr. Vivek Mittal, Director PCBT expressed gratitude and said that it was an
opportunity to learn logistic part of downloading and installing Mendeley into
their systems.
