Respected Shri Rudyji,

On 21-22 November 2014, Gujarat Technological University is organizing a 2-day National

Workshop on
‘Development of Policy Framework for Innovation & Student Entrepreneurship for
Universities with a large number of affiliated Colleges’.
We request you to kindly inaugurate the Workshop in the morning of 21 st November 2014 at
Ahmedabad.
Background of why this Workshop is being organized: On 19thSeptember, AICTE had organized a
Conclave on Entrepreneurship at New Delhi and the Conclave was inaugurated by Ms Smriti
Irani. GTU has been invited to present its work on Entrepreneurship and Skill Development. We
presentation before an audience of more than 500 Principals/ Directors of Engineering Colleges,
affiliated to various Universities in India.
During the day a number of presentations were made by various government officers and
others. These referred to the work at IITs, NITs and other single campus institutions. There was
no significant work, which referred to more than 95% of engineering students, who are in
various Colleges.
We knew that the work, done by GTU, is unprecedented and I pointed out to AICTE officers of
other presentations, which had a relevance to only a very small percentage of students in India.
So the AICTE officers asked me to organize a Workshop, which has a relevance to the scenario
of engineering education in India.
Now we are organizing such a workshop and we are requesting you to kindly inaugurate the
Workshop.
If the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship can also co-sponsor the Workshop, we
shall be thankful. Please note that we are not asking for any financial support whatsoever.
We shall be obliged if I can be given an appointment and invite you personally to inaugurate the
Workshop in the morning of 21st November 2014 at Ahmedabad.
