Skittles Icebreaker Activity

On the first day of school, I have my students take a tablespoon

of skittles. They use the guidelines on the next page to tell us about
themselves. Students are only allowed to eat the skittles after they have
completed their part of the activity.

I have included both the instructions I use the first day of

school and a set of blanks as well, so that you can change or adapt
your introductory tasks as you see fit (or use this for review of
material that has multiple possible answers).

ENJOY!
S
For each RED skittle you have, tell the class
something you’ve done that you are proud of.

For each YELLOW skittle you have, tell the class

something interesting or exciting you did this S
summer.

S For each GREEN skittle you have, tell the class

something you hope to accomplish this school year.

S
For each ORANGE skittle you have, tell the class
something about yourself that no one here knows.

For each PURPLE skittle you have, tell the class

S something embarrassing about yourself (that you
are comfortable sharing).
