THE PURPOSE OF THIS ACTIVITY IS TO
SHARE YOUR BEST PRACTICES IN
HANDLING CHILD/SEXUAL ABUSE CASES.

AND AN OPEN DISCUSSION WILL BE
CONDUCTED TO ADDRESS HOW TO
IMPROVE EACH APPROACH. GOODLUCK!

MBHTE-BARMM
SCENARIO 1 (Group 1)

It is 8:15 in the morning, on a school day. Teacher Ebz is not yet in

school for his class. After a moment, he arrived together with Aiza, a
grade 7 (high school) student.

Upon appraising Teacher Ebz on his tardiness, he exclaimed he

had to assist Aiza going to school and suddenly went to his class to catch
up the time. When Aiza however passed by you, her head was bowed and
you noticed her in tears. When you asked her what is the problem, she
burst into tears and said: “Si sir” and she profusely cried thereafter.

You brought Aiza in your office and after she calmed down, all she
could utter was: “Sir raped me”.
SCENARIO 2 (Group 2)

Teacher Madz is your high school teacher. He is a single, young, energetic and an
adventurous lad in his early 20’s. He has on multiple times, proved his dedication to teach
the young and impart his knowledge to his students.

However, on several instances, you have noticed Teacher Madz’s closeness to

Mary, a high school student. As far as you know, Mary received some high grades due to
the tutoring of Teacher Madz.

One faculty party/bonding, after some drinking and singing, Teacher Madz who was
drunk and extremely emotional confided to you and asked for some advice. He narrated
that he and Mary are both in love and that they are about to elope if they confirm that Mary
is pregnant. Accordingly however, the parents of Mary does not know yet and Teacher Madz
is afraid because the father is a high ranking military man.

SCENARIO 3 (Group 3)

Teacher Lakz is a new teacher. He has been identified as a strict

disciplinarian. At around 11 in the morning, in one of his classes, he directed
some non-compliant/non-cooperative elementary students to sit in the air with
books over their head, and arms for 5 mins. Unsatisfied, he made them go
outside in the center of the field and continue sitting in the air, still with the books,
for about 15 mins while most of the other students were watching.

You are currently in the Division Office complying with some requirements,
however, you were informed through call by your guidance counselor.

At around 4:30 in the afternoon, when you were already in school, a

parent arrived and lashed at you asking for an explanation and demanded that
Teacher Lakz be removed from the service.
SCENARIO 4 (Group 4)

Malik and Akmad are both 14 years old and grade 8 students. They
have been arch nemesis since they were elementary students and have been
back and forth in the guidance counselors office for different misdemeanors.

During the intramurals and in the basketball game, the two students
were playing against each other. In game, Malik intentionally threw the ball at
Akmad hitting the latter’s head. When everybody in the court laughed at
Akmad, he was embarrassed and angered. He picked up a bat and ran
towards Malik who in turned pulled out a sharp object and forcefully stabbed
Akmad. When Akmad was hit in the shoulders, he backed off and ran away.
Malik however chased him and the Teacher who was coaching the basketball
game stopped Malik. The Teacher-Coach then called an ambulance and called
you.
With the foregoing scenario, please
enumerate (chronologically) the
steps/actions you would take in the
instant case and provide a brief
explanation/justification on your
course of action per step.
