Commentary on Texas Abortion Law

Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy that takes place during the
first twenty-four weeks of the pregnancy's duration. It is a common decision made by millions
of people all around the world. This is also a decision that has the potential to make the
difference between life and death. So, why do women choose to abort their pregnancies?
According to some internet studies, women's reasons for seeking an abortion are commonly
because of an unwanted pregnancy caused by being raped and being unprepared to become
parents as a result of their decision to terminate the pregnancy. The most common issue is
socio-economic considerations, which include disruptions in education, a lack of aid,
unemployment, and poverty, amongst other things. A woman's perception that she is too
young, as well as difficulties in her relationship with her boyfriend, are all potential
explanations.

On May 19, 2021, Texas Governor Greg Abott signed Senate Bill 8, also known as the
Heartbeat bill, into law. SB 8, or the Heartbeat bill, is one of the nation’s strictest anti-abortion
laws ever implemented. The goal of Senate Bill 8, or the Foetal Heartbeat Bill, is to reduce and
eradicate elective abortion while ignoring the fact that increased access to contraception would
be more effective at reducing elective abortion rates. In addition, Senate Bill 8 outlaws most
activities beyond six weeks of pregnancy and makes no exceptions for pregnancies caused by
incest or rapes.

The contentious topic of abortion was a significant matter that deserved to be brought
to the attention of people all around the world. It is extremely important to pay attention to
this issue as soon as possible in order to reduce the mortality rate among pregnant women.
Abortion begins with the question of whether or not the unborn child has a legitimate right to
live. Many people have expressed their thoughts on this issue. What are your thoughts?

Senate Bill 8 prohibits a physician from performing an abortion on "a pregnant woman"
if her unborn child has a detectable foetal heartbeat, absent a medical emergency. This case
presents a challenge to a recently enacted Texas law, S.B. 8, which authorizes private civil
actions against persons who abort an unborn child with a detectable foetal heartbeat.

The Texas law, Senate Bill 8 (SB8), went into effect on September 1, 2021, effectively
banning abortions in the state. In a midnight ruling on 1 September, the United State Supreme
Court refused to block it despite appeals from reproductive rights organisations, civil rights
organisations, and clinics. Abortion until foetal viability has been constitutionally protected
since the 1973 Supreme Court Roe v Wade decision. The court has allowed states to require
restrictions such as waiting periods, counselling, and ultrasounds.

Abortion and civil rights campaigners in the United States are challenging a law set to
take effect in Texas on 1 September that bans abortions after six weeks and rewards anyone
who helps to prosecute successfully anyone helping a woman to break the law with a reward of
$10 000 (£ 7200; € 8560). Someone could be sued if they advised a woman seeking an abortion,
drove her to a clinic, lent her money for the abortion, or helped provide an abortion, such as a
doctor or nurse.

The state of Texas made a wise decision when it decided to abolish rather than legalize
abortion. A lot of people around the world will treat pregnancy as a joke if abortion becomes
legalized now or in the future. The lives of many unborn children will be put to an end as a
result of this decision. Ideally, it should be prohibited absolutely.

Jose Rizal would have been against abortion if he had lived today. If he were still alive,
he would veto any legislation that would make abortion more accessible. Jose Rizal is a
proponent of education, as well as of women's empowerment. In addition, if you declare
yourself to be an empowered woman, you will take better care of yourself and will not allow
anyone to denigrate you. The fact that he opposes abortion may be seen immediately from this
point. He would want to see birth control made more widely available than the legalization of
abortion. In lieu of terminating the life of the unborn child, he would like to prevent pregnancy
through the use of birth control.

Abortion is not something that I personally believe in. It definitely demonstrates the
murder of a specific individual. It is cruel and inhumane, and it is not compassionate. Why
would you want to cause harm to a foetus who has already developed a heartbeat and is ready
to explore this globe on its own? It was a callous and insensitive decision on their part. Abortion
is a morally reprehensible practice that should be avoided at all costs. When an abortion is
performed, it has the potential to result in serious medical consequences, which could result in
the mother's death.

It is only right that abortion should not be prohibited under any circumstances, not only
in Texas, but in every country throughout the world. Why abort if the foetus can be revived and
adopted by a couple who is unable to have a biological child? Human beings must grasp the
significance of life. Ending the life of an unborn child is ending a child’s right to step on his or
her own feet into this magnificent world.
