How does literature mirror significant socio-political turmoil of a country?

Literature mirrors significant socio-political turmoil of a country through its creativity in

describing the socio-political issues happening in a country. Through literature, personal
experience of the people from the conflicts happening in the country is shared to everyone.
What the writer experiences is also experienced by the reader, and that creates burning desires
within them to create changes in the country. It has a different effect on every person because
through the words used, it opens the mind and heart of the reader.
Personally, I think the reason why literature is used when a person (or the writer) wants
to tell a lesson is because it transports readers to the world within the setting of the story and
automatically, the reader would feel the emotion of the story as well. It’s like putting someone to
someone’s shoes without forcing them. The story “A Little Incident” by Lu Hsun instills a picture
in our minds that even if we are powerful or in a high position in society, we still need the people
below us to move and continue. It also moved our hearts in helping others who are experiencing
such turmoils in the country. Our position in society usually hinders us from seeing the painful
experience of those below us.

Summary of the story:

The person in the story has already lived six years in the village, and throughout those
years a lot of "affairs of the state" have happened. He’s not affected, but it makes him like
people less. Until a little incident happens.

One day, he had to go to work and find only a few people. He struggled to hire a
rickshaw and succeeded only after much difficulty. While going to the South Gate, an old and
poor woman ran in front of them and got entangled in the rickshaw, falling to the ground,
kneeling on her knees and hands. He was irritated that the puller had to stop and help the old
woman because that might delay and trouble his journey. He told the puller to move on and
don’t mind the woman, but he did not listen and continued to assist the woman to the police
station. He was moved and touched by what happened, especially by the fact that he gave the
puller a lot of money. He reflected upon his actions and found no answer.

Because of what happened, he became humble, which impelled him to become better
and strengthened the hope and courage he had. That’s why what happened is still crystal clear
to him.
