RESEARCH METHODS

Write an introductory paragraph


(Note: For proposal, use the future tense)

Research Design
Identify the major research design of the study, provide a source and explain why
this is the appropriate design.

Participants of the Study and Sampling Procedure


Indicate the participants, how they were selected, criteria for choosing them, the
sampling size, and procedure used.

Research Instruments
Describe the instrument used and the source of such instruments, and specify
the modifications (if any) made in the instrument from the source. Acknowledge the
source and the written permission granted for the use of such instruments.

Data Gathering Procedure and Ethical Consideration


Describe the process of gathering data, and indicate the ethical considerations
such as transparency, confidentiality, voluntary participation, risk and benefits of the
study, consent and assent for minor (18 years and below with the consent of adults).

Basic Format:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date). Title of the work. Source where you
can retrieve the work. URL or DOI if available
A. Journal Article:
Author(s). Note: List each author's last name and initial as Author, A. A., Author,
B. B., & Author, C. C. Use an ampersand (&) before the final author's name;
(Year); Title of the article. Note: For works that are part of a greater whole (e.g.
articles, chapter), use sentence case. Only the first word of the title and subtitle
and proper nouns are capitalized; Title of the Journal, Note: Italicize and
capitalize each word in the journal; Volume Note: Italicize the journal volume. If
there is no issue, include a comma before the page range; (Issue), Note: If there
is a issue number in addition to a volume number, include it in parentheses;
Page range; DOI (Digital Object Identifier)
