Day 1: Real or not Real?


Paper flowers and Real flowers
 Enable to spot the difference between the two flowers.
 Observe which is real and not real.
 The kids will be able to compare living and non-living things.
 Flower painting with real flowers.
Materials: real flowers and paper flowers,

Letter P
 Introduce the letter Pp and it’s sounds by singing a song.
 To recognize the letter and know that it’s a consonant letter.
 Write the letter Pp in the air using their body.
 Recognize the sound of the letter Pp.
 Play a game using picture flashcards that starts with the letter Pp.
 Introduce the word plum and pear
Materials: flash cards, real things that starts with letter Pp.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
 To listen to the story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle
 Find out what makes something alive, and what all living things need.
 How living things grow and change in time.
 Know the sequence of the story using a sequencing cards.
Materials: The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Let’s learn number 4!


 Sing numbers 1-20 song.
 Introduce the number 4.
 Play a game using manipulatives in the classroom.
 Caterpillar counting puzzle 1-11. Count, cut, and stick.
Materials: number cards, 1-20 song, manipulatives in the room

Day 2. Identify Living and Non Living Things


Sort out
 To identify living and non-living things by using a yes or no chart.
 The kids will be familiar of things that are living and non-living things by identifying it using
the yes or no chart.
Materials: Yes or no chart, living and non-living things objects in the basket.

Sight word “am”


 Introduce the sight word “am” by singing.
 Play loud and soft “am” using a drum.
 Run and say the word “am.”
Materials:
am flash cards, drum and drum stick

Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?

 To be familiarize with the story Brown bear.


 To practice reading the sight word see.
 To put the animals from the story in order that they appear in the story.
 Retell the story by using the tiles with the animals on them.
 Placing the picture tile in sequence of the story.
Materials: Brown bear, Brown Bear What do you See? by Bill Martin Jr/Eric Carle, picture tile of the
story.

Primary colors
 Children will recognize the song of 1-20 by singing 1-20 song.

Materials: manipulatives in the room, number 2 flash cards, white board, white board markers.

Day 3:  Are seeds living things?


To investigate which conditions are needed for survival.
 Learn about the difference about Living and no-living things, the needs of living things, and
life cycles.
 Ask: Have they seen a seed move?
 To observe the seeds by using a magnifying glass.
 To be able to record their observation using the observation sheet.
 To gather the things that a seed need to survive.
Materials: seeds, plastic cup, soil, water, magnifying glass, observation sheet

Letter Pp
 To understand that letter Pp has a straight line and a curve line.
 To do skywriting forming the letter Pp.
 Form the letter Pp using pompoms.
 Guess what’s in the box?
 Write the letter Pp
 Identify the words and colors of the plum and pear
Materials:
Letter Pp flash cards, box of things that starts with the letter Pp

Jack and the Beanstalk (story)


 To listen to the story “Jack and the Beanstalk”
 To know the sequence of the story using a picture cards.
Materials: Jack and the Beanstalk story, sequence cards.

Number 4
 Children will recognize the song of 1-20
 Children will identify the number 4.
 Learn how to trace number 4 using their finger.
 Collect 4 things in the room.
 Count 4 items.
 Play using manipulatives, bean bags, and hoops
 Form the number 4 using a straw.
Materials: manipulatives in the room, number 4 flash cards, white board, white board markers,
hoops, bean bags

Day 4: Needs of Living Things


What do you know about the needs of living things?
What do you want to know about the needs of living things?
 To explore the needs of living things.
 Observe on the plant and a picture of a pet.
 Differentiate which living things need more and need less. Why?
 Record their answer on the speech bubble and stick their picture.
Materials: plant and a picture of a pet, speech bubble, pictures.

Sight word “am”


 To identify the word “am”
Materials: sight word ‘am’ activities

KWL Chart
 To talk about what they’ve learnt in the “Needs of Living Things.”
 Improve their social skills by communicating with their peers.
Materials: KWL Chart, black marker

Primary colors (red, yellow, and blue)


 To identify the primary colors.
 Recognize the primary colors by letting them get an objects in the class room.
 Sorting out colors using a puzzle (brown bear, brown bear story)
Materials: manipulatives in the class room, color puzzles in the story (brown bear).

Day5: Characteristics of Living Things

 To understand the meaning of characteristics.


 To identify the characteristics of living things.
 To name some characteristics by showing a plant and an animal.
Materials: real plant, real pet
